Game 40 - St. Louis Cardinals (Chris Carpenter) at Cincinnati Reds (Travis Wood)

    This is awesome!!!!

Back breaker by Phillips....Cards defense not making any plays.

Whoever positioned Berkman that shallow just gave the Reds the win. His jump wasn't great but he should have been playing at least 10 feet further back.
  • Ironman92
Phillips goes opposite field and reds fans are happy!

In with another crack on Carpenter struggling to find a way to explain something to his kid after the game.

    Bastards...stealing my thunder... :(

If Phillips double wasn't the nail in the coffin...Bruce's double sure was.

Would love to see them play pile on in the 8th.

Arrendondo didn't look great but he did get 3 up and 3 down including Pujols and Holliday.

So nice seeing this team healthy finally!!

Guess Heisey faced a pitcher his swing worked against.

Heisey probably has the best feeling ever when he constantly gets benched for someone else then hits a PH homerun.

Chapman in to pitch the 9th

Dusty does do a very good job at trying to keep struggling relievers out of high pressure situations in order to "fix" whatever is wrong. Fans won't mind Chapman giving up a few runs when they have a 10 run lead, as long as he finds whats wrong and can correct it. Dusty does a good job at that for sure.

I just don't get why he can't throw strikes.
  • Midstate01
The crowd is really trying to get behind him.
  • Ironman92
Might sound ass backwards...but he might actually get out of his funk quicker in a pressure situation.

9-2 you are just thinking to throw strikes.....and this knocks the sail out of a huge 3 game sweep.
  • Jughead
Sad to say, but this is probably the time to send Chapman back to AAA.
  • Ironman92
One thing I notice is that he falls off the mound way more than usual...not going towards home at all
  • Ironman92
It's in his head... It'll take something unconventional to get him out of it.
  • Jughead
    Yeah, it's about time Dusty.
Why wasn't Cordero out there to begin with?
Save situation or not, you put your best hand out there.
  • Midstate01
    Here we go...
  • Ironman92
Theriot killed that ball...Brennaman is lost on the call.

    Cordero coming in.

That God Damn Heisey is bad luck!

No. Using coco today would have been dumb up 7.

Now yea, they better not blow this.

9-7...runner on 2nd and the Messiah is up
  • Midstate01
Remember when Albert got out last inning they said he ended the series with 3 singles..... Well here he is again!!
  • Ironman92
Did that hurt Pujols wrist more than it hurt the Reds psyche?
  • gerb131
Dang. What in the bejeebus happened?
