Andre Ethier....Now We Pay Attention
-
Ironman92He's been great all year....but now he is up to a 30 game hitting streak.
How far will he get? I'll go 36 for my guess. I'd like to see him get into the 40'ss pretty well and this would get pretty big. -
Laley23As great as the streak is, and he deserves credit whenever it ends. But if we are talking about breaking Joes 56er....I wont pay attention til around 40-45.

darbypitcher22Ethier is a good hitter, someone who I like to watch approach an AB. You never know where he'll end up in the quest for 56, but having Extra Innings gives me a little advantage. If I see he's struggling in fantasy, I can switch over and check out the game
-
jordo212000Good player, but he isn't going to get anywhere close to that record
-
Ironman92Probably would have said he wouldn't get 26 more after he had a 4 game streak either.
-
jordo212000Big difference between 26 and 56
-
karen lotzI think he breaks it. 59 is where it will end.
-
thavoiceHe will get to 44 in the first AB to tie Pete Rose's NL mark.....only to have game get rained out in the 4th inning and the game would need to be started over and stats wiped out and the next game he Ofer's
Yes.......keeping the record was included in the pricetage when Pete Rose sold his soul to the devil -
Ironman92I will agree it's an incredible long shot still...but if he does get to go for #56 and #57....it'll be at GABP the first Friday and Saturday in June.
My wife bought tickets for the Saturday game about a week ago...just to go.
This guarantees it not happening...I also missed McGwire's 62nd by 1 game back in 1998. -
september63I applaud his streak. However, I was a bit skeptical Weds when he sat the game out with an injury. It just happened the Dodgers were facing Carlos Zambrano that day.

LOL. Zambrano and his 4.23 ERA on the season. -

LOL. Carlos Zambrano is not Sandy Koufax or Bob Gibson.september63;761827 wrote:I applaud his streak. However, I was a bit skeptical Weds when he sat the game out with an injury. It just happened the Dodgers were facing Carlos Zambrano that day. -

Oops...did not see your post Laley. But....exactly.Laley23;761987 wrote:LOL. Zambrano and his 4.23 ERA on the season. -
FootwedgeWould love to see Ethier make a run at DiMag. It's a record that I don't think will ever be broken...at least not in my lifetime. To many fireballers coming out of the bullpen in late innings.
-
Ironman92He's 0/1 with a BB after 4 inn tonight
-
Ironman9256 is not 26....? Missed the point.
-
Ironman92He's now 0/3 and he will get 1 more at bat it appears..but it's also tied in the 7th.....so extra innings could give him more opportunities him
-
Ironman92He just struck out in the 8th. It'll take 8 batters batting in the 9th or extra innings.
-
Laley23Done.
-
Ironman92I did what a lot of pitchers couldn't do.

BigAppleBuckeyeI was at the game last night and saw his streak end. Ethier has owned Chris Young throughout his career, so when he was a late scratch, that was certainly a bad omen. I admit, even as a Mets fan, I was hoping to see him extend the streak last night. Props to a great run!
