Official 2011 NFL Draft thread

NonDoesn't seem to be as much enthusiasm for the draft this year with the lockout situation.
But all the same, I'm anxious to see what happens. -
IliketurtlesI'm ready for it! I love the draft haha. The rap they just had on ESPN about 10 minutes ago was pretty sweet.
-
SonofanumpI thought this thing started at 7! F! Got wait another at least 54 minutes for the 2nd pick.
Cam Newton off the board. -
NonI'm at work so I won't be watching on TV.
But I see there are reports from Adam Schefter that Denver will take Von Miller at No. 2. -
BR1986FBJay Glazer reporting the Browns have a deal to move down to #27 with Atlanta. According to the old draft chart, if this happens, Cleveland should get Atlanta's 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, plus a 2nd next year, or a 1st next year instead of the 2nd next year and the 3rd this year.

That's a lot in return and it makes sense for Atlanta to go up and maybe get that one player -- probably a receiver.
Just depends on if the Browns value one of the top players too much to move down. -

Just in....Mike Mayock (NFL Network) just said Julio Jones will go #6.......but NOT to Cleveland & the trade will blow your mind. Assuming this is ATL. I keep hearing ATL but I wouldn't discount New England also. -
Tiger2003WE WANT FOOTBALL, WE WANT FOOTBALL, WE WANT FOOTBALL, WE WANT FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gotta love the Draft!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

That is very interesting... And can you imagine if ATL does make that trade and take Jones... Jones and White on opposite ends Matt Ryan will be one very happy QB.
O yeah Booing Goodell = best moment of the draft. -

Atlanta needs to make that deal to take all of the focus off of Roddy White & Gonzalez. Jenkins isn't cutting it plus it will open up the running game for Turner. White & Jones would be sick. -

I agree. I don't think it's ridiculous for Atlanta to do that. Even though it's a lot to give up. -
BR1986FBThat would be a very fun offense to watch.
-
like_thatA Jones/White or Jones/Green combo would be lethal. I hope Atlanta is very desperate and does "blow our minds" with their trade.
-
gerb131Bengals fan wanting AJ Green checking in

O I'm not say that Atlanta is stupid for doing it even if they do give up a lot I agree they need another WR. I just never thought of the Browns trading out of that pick because they really need a WR as well.BR1986FB;753277 wrote:Atlanta needs to make that deal to take all of the focus off of Roddy White & Gonzalez. NonIt would be a good move for both teams. Unless there is a player that could be there at No. 6 that the Browns shouldn't pass up.
They obviously don't feel any of those WRs are that special. Peterson? He figures to be gone, right? -

Heckert typically hasn't gone with the 1st round WR. Maclin was the exception. He found Desean Jackson in the second. I think his mindset is "we have so many holes I'd rather get a bunch of 'solid' guys versus one 'elite' guy." Plus, next years draft is deeper so an extra 1st could go a long way in stockpiling talent or, God forbid, if McCoy screws the pooch, moving up for Andrew Luck. -
NonCam seems more primetimeish than Carolina
But maybe that makes it a good pick for them. Marketable star. -
Pick6stupid pick by carolina.
-
like_thatFirst bust of the draft.

BR1986FBPanthers not messing around...I LIKE IT! Keep moving at this pace boys !

NonI get off work at 11:30 p.m.
I just want the Steelers to pick before that or about 11:50 p.m. but they'll probably be up exactly when I'm driving home. -
justincredibleSeriously. Cam Newton has the IQ of a muddy cleat.

I said earlier that the Panthers will have to leave a trail of breadcrumbs from his house to the facility so he'll make it to practice everyday. They are going to have to draw up the playbook in Crayon.
