Reds @ Brewers--Game 3

  • SportsAndLady
I know I shouldn't be starting a game thread, but Votto just drilled a 3 run bomb.

    He's good

    He sucks.

Oh but he's been on base every game this year. And that streak dates back several games last year as well.

Worry the Reds let Gallardo find a groove, now they are going to be trying to hold on for 5 innings. Hopefully LeCure can keep the Milwaukee bats at bay.
  • Heretic
LeCure isn't doing that. From 4-0 to 4-3 pretty quickly.
  • SportsAndLady
If Lecure could get through 6 with the lead, I'm very confident because of how well our bullpen has been pitching

Sounds like Dusty wasn't too happy w/ that error by Cairo.

6-6 now in the bottom of the 8th, based loaded with 2 outs. Chapman vs Braun.

Crazy that the Brewers have drawn over 30K for every game this series, including almost 32 today for a noon local start. Good for them.
  • TBone14
Chapman gets out of the bases loaded, 1 out jam. And the Reds will bat in the 9th.

The Reds have missed a lot of opportunities today. Outside of Votto's 3-run homer, it has been disappointing. LeCure, like him or not, is a 7th starter. Bailey can't return quick enough.
  • TBone14
Reds do nothing. 6-6 heading to Bottom 9
    Due Up:

    Fielder
    McGahee
    Hart
  • se-alum
11 LOB for the Reds today, unacceptable.
  • se-alum
Chapman has abused Fielder two nights in a row.
  • TBone14
    Chapman gets thru the 9th.

    Fielder- K looking
    McGahee- F9
Hart- Single, then is picked off.
  • TBone14
Stubbs hits a one out homer. Reds lead 7-6

I have never seen Fielder look so helpless at the plate.
I loved how Hart was caught even though he clearly wasn't stealing. That was an incredible move by Chapman.
  • TBone14
    Chapman is freaking nasty.
  • TBone14
Reds with insurance runs on 1st and 2nd with 1 out and Phillips coming to the dish.
  • TBone14
Prompt double play. Here comes Cordero to try and close it down.

    Due Up:

    Lucroy
    Boggs
    Weeks
  • Jughead
12 men LOB...if the Reds lose this, they have nobody to blame but themselves.
  • Midstate01
Maybe the best I've seen chapman look. He pitched great today. And the move to first was great too.
  • TBone14
3 up 3 down. Chapman the win. Cordero the save. 7-6 Reds.
  • Jughead
Nice series win. At least Cordero doesn't look helpless like he did last year.
  • Azubuike24
Chapman has still never allowed a home run. Given his stuff, it's going to be a big deal when someone does go deep on him. Many can catch his fastball, but rarely can they elevate it AND get ahead of it enough to hit it with any power. Nobody really swings at his offspeed stuff.

Great win today..needed to take 2/3 to get some cockiness back.
