Ive liked the strings that Acta has pulled thus far. But we are 10 and fucking 4 and Michael Brantley at leadoff is a MAJOR reason why. Im hoping he knows better than I, but I dont see how this is smart.

    WTF is wrong with Talbot?

Yeah...Brantley has an almost .400 OBP. He is really getting it done.

I'd not have moved Sizemore instantly into the leadoff spot either. I've also stated I think Hafner is DONE too. Take it for what its worth.

I wouldn't screw with the chemistry of this team right now. But they will.

I thought they'd be shit this year. Take that for what it is worth ,too.

This makes no sense, other than Brantley getting the day off, so it isn't like they are necessarily moving Brantley out of the spot. Hopefully it works out.

Even without a 40 hr hitter you will give more opportunities to your top RBI men with the best OBP ahead of them. It isn't about one swing over the fence it's about getting guys across the plate.

Brantley is having as great a start as you could dream of and his OBP is right at Sizemore's career average. You don't go off a 15 game sample size in the big leagues. If they think Sizemore is healthy he should be at the top. You won't find any stats from anyone else on the team that say otherwise.

    Sizemore should be batting 7-9.

I agree with everyone else that Sizemore should be batting 7-9, or at the very best 6. I don't care if he bitches and moans, Acta needs to put him there.

Also, I remember in sports illustrated's preview, they were discussing each team's easier/tougher part of the schedule. They picked April for the Tribe, mainly because of having 7 games with KC. Kinda sucks that KC is pretty hot right now as well.

Ill go off Brantley hitting .300 at every level, and going back the last 3 months he has played, he is at that level

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but I was listening to the Dan Patrick show the other day (or it might have been the SVP show), and he had Tom Verducci on. He asked Verducci if he thought the Tribe was for real, and Verducci said you can tell the young players are starting to gell, and there are other young players that are not there yet, but when they are this team could be scary. He said this tribe team now reminds him of the Padres last year, because the Padres got hot at the end of 09, and they continued playing good ball at the start of the '10 season. He is saying the Tribe could do the same as they were playing good ball at the end of last season and they have started this season off well. Also he spoke of Asdrubal and said he believes he is the best shortstop in the AL, but nobody knows him. He believes he is at the point of his career that he is going to consistently play like he is now. I hope he is right. I have been pretty down on Asdrubal since he started playing like shit in the 07 ALCS. I didn't realize he was only 25 though.

I also agree with not putting Sizemore at lead-off. I don't like what that decision implies.

Sizemore penned in to lead off today. I'm not happy with this at all.....but let's see if he plays himself out of the lead off spot. On another note....he is 10 times the outfielder that Brantley is. Brantley in left is a lot more tolerable. I'm still not sold on Brantley's offense either...but so far...he's done a great job.

It sux that Talbot hurt his elbow. I hope he gets better quickly. He's a perfect example of how a guy with very little stuff can win by making the other team hit it.

I think.....if they stay healthy....the tribe is for real. They still need a third baseman, but Hannihan has been Brooks Robinsonlike with his glove. The pitching staff...for those of us that paid attention in August and September last year, is really good....from top to bottom. We have the best closer in the game right now. (anybody check out Nathan lately?)

There's no doubt he can hit .300, that's not the point. When the bottom of the order is hitting well but fairly slow, and there isn't Thome/Ramirez in the 3/4 hole you need a guy with some pop at the top both to drive in runs and get in scoring position. Brantley is a singles hitter which is why he doesn't score many runs or drive in many. It would be different if he could steal and he should get there in a year or two. Even in your 3 month sample, you still don't take that over the several years Grady put up 120 runs and 80 rbi. If he plays himself out of the spot that's fine, but he has to get a shot to keep his job.

I'm with the majority on this one. I dont like Grady in the leadoff spot. He isnt a leadoff hitter, he never has been and I dont think he ever will be. Dont mess with a good thing, Brantley was looking very comfortable in the leadoff spot, leave him there. Grady isnt ready to be playing everyday anyways, is Manny going to mess with the lineup like this everytime Grady plays a game? I dont like it at all, Grady should be 7-9

LaPorta needs to start stepping it up.
