Russell Westbrook....Another Huge Triple Double?
-
Ironman92After the 1st qtr versus the Lakers:
16 pts, 4 rb and 4 ast
He's already had 3 triple doubles this year and two of them were way over the criteria. -
Ironman92So far this year he has had 3
35, 13, 13
32, 13, 10
23, 10, 10
and an impressive just miss at 38, 15, 9 -
Ironman92I jinxed him....though he only played 6 minutes in the 2nd qtr and just 16 for teh half....he's now at 18, 5, 5 at the half
-
hoops23He's the best PG in the league IMO..

So which 2 are "way over the criteria"?? -
Ironman92Well, go back and find 2 triple doubles as impressive as the 2 biggest ones of Westbrook.
32/13/10 is his 2nd biggest. -

You said "way over the criteria"
None of those are "way over the criteria" -

There are 5 on there that are more impressive, plus 4 quad-doubles. -

Laley23From this year.
Griffin: 33, 17, 10
Rondo (Id argue his 23 and 24 assist TD were better). I think they were both 20-something pts, 10 rbs, and 23 and 24 assits.
I would agree that anything past 25 pts, and 12, 12 is pretty far over. You dont see many that are such, so Id give Westbrook credit for the 35, 13, 13 on. Usually guys arent in the 30s with asts and rebounds more than 10 or 11. -
Ironman92semantics are fun
My bad. -
wildcats20I'm not trying to discredit his TD's, as TD's are great, but it's not like they were out of this world.
Westbrook should be in the top 5 discussion, but I think a lot of people are hesitant because he is so young. -
Ironman92no they weren't out of this world...but I thought 35-13-13 and 32-10-10 were pretty spectacular and only Griffin (once), LeBron (once) had bigger totals in all 3 combined this year....I agree Rondo with 24 ast-10 and 10 is atleast as impressive
16-4-4 is out of this world so I started a thread.....thought I would add to it with some of his impressive triple doubles already.
It didn't happen though.
He's young but I'm not sure I'd take anyone other than Rondo over him.....and not by a huge amount. -
Laley23Id for sure take Rose over him. Though, I think Westbrook is easily in the consideration for next best.
-
KR1245Westbrook is def in the conversation. I'm still taking Rose over him. I might put Williams and Paul in front of him as well but its pretty close.

I wanted to ask the same question, but didn't want to rain on I92's parade. -
hoops23The only PG who is right there with Westbrook is Rose.
Rose is the main guy on his team, but he doesn't have a Durant on his team either. Westbrook lead OKC while Durant was injured earlier in the year and he's a more complete PG than Rose.
He's the best defensive PG, best rebounding PG, he's just as good of a scorer as Rose and he's a bit better at getting his team involved. -
GOONx19I would argue that Rondo is better defensively and as a rebounder. He's second in the league in steals, can guard a much wider range of players (Lebron), and averages 11.4% of Boston's rebounds, to Westbrook's 10.7%. He's also a much better passer.

I would argue that rondo is an alien -
Ironman92Yeah...extreme duh on my part leaving out Rose!....geesh

No, just no.
Sorry, Rondo is not in the discussion. It's Rose and Westbrook vs everybody else..
Rondo is a very good defender and rebounder, but he's not better than Westbrook.
