Have you ever felt threatened while attending a sporting event.......

KR1245in the opposing teams gear?
This was a topic that was being discussed on the Fan this afternoon. It sounds like the Giants fan that was attacked after the Dodgers game is still in pretty bad shape. Anybody have some stories?
I was in Camp Randall with some family members in 02. On my way out there was a Buckeye fan celebrating with some of his buddies. I didnt see where the guy came from but this Badger fan snuck up behind the guy and punched him in the back of the head. I've never seen anything like that.
I've seen fights at Browns and Steelers games but I was never close enough to see how they got started. I had some Steeler fans "threaten" me in the bathroom but thats about it, I didnt take them seriously. -
wes_mantoothNope...I am not a pussy.
PWNED -
gorocks99Never. Have always been cordial when extended the same, expected a little good natured ribbing, and haven't acted like a drunk ass.

thavoiceSteelers Bengals playoff game. Started 430.
I a Steelers fan, of course. I guess I never felt threatened at all but after the game, walking down Pete Rose way some benga fan came from behind and clocked me the jaw pretty good. Didnt see who it was..I get up ready to swing and he is running across the road like a little bitch. He almost got hit by a car.
Have been to Cleveland, Detroit, Cincy games for steelers games and never really felt threatened.
It is weired tho...few years ago at th Pens/Jackets game in Columbus, and another OC guy was there I remember him commenting recently, Pens down 3-0 with 10 to go. Tie it, go OT and then lose. I have never heard fans be so nasty than I did BJ cans after that game. It was downright nasty. I dont really care what people say..I dont...but still this was plain nasty. -

Seems about right with Roethlisberger raping girls in bathrooms and all... -
like_thatHave never felt threatened. As long as you don't act like a jackass I think you should be fine. Regardless what those scumbags did is sickening and pathetic. Anybody that has to resort to physical violence, because of a sporting event really needs to get a life.

Commander of AwesomeNope I haven't. Though at the redskins stadium back in '08 had a bunch of pussy fans say some shit, some a little over board but nothing too bad.
I've also been in Orlando for a Cavs game and it almost felt like a home game, but I think thats because FL doesn't have any real fans. -

I remember this. -
swamisezDrunk lady with forehead tattoo took a swing at me in Baltimore two years ago. Ravens fans were generally cordial. Had my Carson jersey on and she went ballistic, thankfully some of her own restrained her and apologized. I don't know what I would have done. I obviously wouldn't hit her back, and if I did 40K fans packed in black and purple would have probably killed me.

Fab4RunnerI have not. My brother did get punched in the side of the head while tailgating for a Browns/Bengals game in Cinci. Some Bengals fans were harassing our other brother and my brother told everyone to just calm down. Some guy came out of nowhere and punched him. I think the guy ran away and no one else tried anything.

Little DannyI was in Morgantown for the UC/WVU football game back in 2008 with one of my old roommates from college. I should disclose I was wearing a UC baseball cap and I think he had a pullover on so it was obvious who we were rooting for. We had a beer bottle thrown at us outside the stadium and got jeered all night long. I sat behind a young couple that would turn around, point and make some derrogatory comment after every good play WVU made that night (the were total WT by the way and the chick was plan nasty). UC took the lead in the game and they got livid. Their guy's face and neck got alll red and he starting walking around punching his chest, mumbling, looking up at us and just acting weird. It was really the only time I was at a sporting event where I felt so threatend. Fortunately, they bailed as UC took a comfortable lead in the second half (incidentally, WVU made a comeback and took the game into OT, which UC eventually won).
There was a nice lady in WVU gear who sat next to me. She observed the couple too and apologized for their behavior. She made a comment like "People like that are who give WVU fans a bad name...". Despite her kindness, I don't think I will ever go back there again. -
Pick6I havent, but I'd say my buddy did. We went to the OSU/Miami game this year, he is a big Miami fan. This drunk ass black dude was next to me, my buddy was on the other side. Black dude was saying stuff like "Fuck Miami" "Your a bitch", etc... and was reaching around me poking my buddy. Now my buddy is kind of a timid guy, but he weighs about 275 and played college ball for a year. He is one to just snap.I wouldnt fuck with him for sure. I told the dude to just calm down. Eventually he passed out with his chili cheese dog in his hand and got it all over him. Some nice OSU fans behind us went and told a cop and he got kicked out. He had a buddy with him that I felt bad for..he was just sitting there being quiet the whole time while his friend was running his mouth and he got kicked out too (I think).

SykotykI've been to many Browns games at Heinz Field and never felt threatened. There's always a few in the crowd that want to start crap, you just don't give them what they want and they lose interest.

Murdski992008 Crew semi final 2nd leg got jumped by about 20 chicago fans after the game outside the stadium. Was protecting my drunk buddy who was talking shit of course, but ended up gettin my face and ribs all battered and bruised, not to mention was concussed the whole next week. But got our pride back at the 2009 opener when we beat the shit outta some Toronto clowns.

IliketurtlesThe only time I was worried is when I went to a Bears/Lions game back in 2008. I wasnt a Bears fan but my GF at the time her dad was and he had an old Walter Payton jersey and told me I had to wear it so I did. The Lions won the game and afterward some idiot fan was drunk and just talking shit and all I did was laugh and keep walking. The dude shouted "what are you laughing about" and then goes to run after me but trips and falls. I've been to a lot of places and thankfully have never really had a bad experience just normal shit talking.
