I've been saying this all along, and still no one will believe me. -
Skyhook79My eyes and Kobe's 5 rings and 2 Finals MVP's tell me different.
Who cares what his % is in those situations. How many of his 5 rings have had to come down to a last second shot? -
september63Im the last thing from a Laker's Homer, but 5 rings and clutch shots out the ass say differently!!

I knew you would make this post. Let's ignore the math and continue to spew ignorance. Thank God for Gasol and Shaq otherwise Kobe would be coming off the bench for the Spurs or Celtics trying to win his first ring.Skyhook79;656862 wrote:My eyes and Kobe's 5 rings and 2 Finals MVP's tell me different.

Wasn't Kobe like 6-24 in last year's game 7? Quit drinking the kool-aid. -
Hb31187Clutch shots out the ass, yes....clutch shot opportunities out the ass, yes
-
september63LOL Kobe Bryant isnt a clutch player? If you disagree, you might check your Mother's birth certificate. She adopted YOU!!

At least kobe didn't LeQUIT when the Lakers were down 3-2 in the series and he didn't LeQUIT even though he shot poorly 1 game out of 7 of the finals, by dominating the boards with 15.
I think you need to LeQUIT drinking the kool-Aid -

This thread isn't about LeQuit or anyone besides Kobe. Nice job though, way to ignore facts. -
FootwedgeKobe is a fraud. He is one of the absolute worst shooters in the clutch. The ball don't lie.
-
sleeper^ Not quite what I said. He's about average.
-
Ironman9238 points today....in a 13 point loss.....no assists is a problem IMO.
-
Skyhook79
Actually he had 41 and the entire Laker team had only 10 assists to Boston's 34. Kobe made passes Artest,Fisher and Gasol just didn't convert, it happens.Ironman92;658310 wrote:38 points today....in a 13 point loss.....no assists is a problem IMO. -
Ironman92yes it happens...but Kobe is better than that

He often tries to do to much. He is a great player but, needs to get others to elevate their game.Skyhook79;658440 wrote:Actually he had 41 and the entire Laker team had only 10 assists to Boston's 34. Kobe made passes Artest,Fisher and Gasol just didn't convert, it happens. -

I think he has proven he can do that based on the fact that they are the 2 time defending Champs. -
outdoorsmanPut it this way. He plays the game at a level every time out that is awesome. It has to be frustrating to him to see many playing at a ho hum level at times. He would make a great coach.
-
Hb31187I agree the Lakers are a damn good team. But how come anytime ANY criticism is brought upon the team during the regular season the only response that lakers fans give is "Well we're 2 time defending champs" But when the Lakers throttle a team in the regular season, there will be people on here talking about how great the game is for the Lakers.
-
outdoorsmanThe Celtics humble many teams. The Lakers will show up when it counts the most but, I like Boston this year.

The "but" comes after the comma. For future reference. -
Skyhook79
Maybe because when you have been to the finals 3 straight years and won 2 in a row, regular season criticism doesn't make sense?Hb31187;658599 wrote:I agree the Lakers are a damn good team. cviewIn the 2009-2010 NBA regaular season, Kobe had six game winners. If he does not make those shots, the Lakers finish with 51 wins and are the 5 seed in the Western conference. LA would have played Utah in Round 1, and given the way they handled the Jazz I think they would have won that series. Round two would have been the Dallas/OKC winner. Given the way the LA/OKC series played out, I'm not sure LA wins. And I definitely think Phoenix takes out LA if they have home court. There is a reason teams do not generally win a ton of road series' on their way to the championship. Without Kobe's "clutchness" last year, LA does not get that ring. If NBA players, coaches, and GMs were polled regarding which player they would least like to face in a tie game with 10 ticks left on the clock, I am pretty confident Kobe Bryant would be the runaway winner. Personally, there are about 5 guys that would scare me to death in that scenario- in no particular order- Kobe, Melo, Durant, Wade, and LeBron. I'd take Kobe, but I think all 5 would give any team a great chance to win.
2000: 22.5
2001: 28.5
2002: 25.2
2009: 26.8
2010: 27.0
Those are Kobe's scoring averages during his 5 chamionship seasons. He was first team All Defense in 2000, 2009, and 2010. In 2001 and 2002 he was second team. The insinuation that he has ridden anyone's coattails to his championships is asinine. Team after team after team has shown that it requires at least two stars to win. Kobe does not win without Shaq or Pau Gasol. Shaq and Pau Gasol do not win without Kobe. End of story. -
Sagesleep -- nice to run into u at the bar the other night bruv.
ur right about this. kobe isnt clutch. he hasnt hit shots to win regular season games, divsion titles, playoff games, or championship games. he isnt clutch in tha least -
bo shemmy33371 2 3 4 5? yea he is not a clutch guy at all.
