Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, Will Tiger Win?

  • dave
Not much going on in the sports world this weekend. Maybe Tiger will put golf back on the map.
  • ernest_t_bass
He will actually finish above first. My prediction.

    I concur.

    That's called 1th

Agreed I hope he comes in 1th!

    For real though.

I expect Tiger to really play well. This is HIS course, no one(as of late) beats him there

He won on that course in a US Open on a broken leg and screwed up knee.

That being said, I expect a win from Tiger or a terrible finish.

I wonder if the guy from The Closer/Law and Order/Dale Earnhardt's dad in the movie "3" will be there? :D

Yeah he owns this course, I think he'll will by 3.

im just excited to get to watch golf again!! TIGER TIGER TIGER!!

John Daly is off to a fast start. He is leading at -3 thru 6. Tiger -1 thru 4.
  • september63
Daly makes the turn at 33. He might play well all weekend but he is usually also good for atleast one blow-up hole. (Im guessing a triple bogey somewhere)

Tiger's in solid shape at 3 under. Parred all 4 of the par 5's, so he should improve tomorrow. Not many guys in the top 10 that should scare him. Leader at -8, but Rickie Fowler at -7 has to be the favorite. He should have a huge year.
  • september63
Woods blistering the course today at -4 for the day ( -7 overall) thru 6 holes. John Daly keeping pace with a 33 front nine ( -8 overall). Leader is Chris Kirk at -10. Kirk is -4 thru 5 today!

AK is playing very well also. Nice group with AK, Tiger and Rocco. Even though Rocco has fallen off today.
  • september63
JD double bogies #4 on the front nine. I hope he can keep it together. He usually blows up the minute things start going South.

    I hope Tiger wins.

That he does but he's been playing better and better. I'll prob watch the final round or at least the last 2hrs or so.

Woods bogeys 3 of 5 holes on the back nine. Birdies 16 and sits at -5, T16 and 7 back.Daly sits at T3 and 3 back.
  • september63
Woods has 25 putts in the 2nd round. If he keeps this putting up, he will win on Sunday.
  • dave
6 birdies is definitely a good sign.

Bad round of golf today. IMO I have a bad feeling that Tiger will never be Tiger again. No one fears him and he just can't get his mojo back.
  • dave
If he doesn't get it turned around at Augusta I agree.

It is nice to see a lot of Americans at the top of the leaderboard.

I wish I was in San Diego right now because I'd be there, but we are heading back there currently from Hawaii and it'll be like 5 days before we get back. Mickelson on top of the leaderboard!

Bubba Watson gets up and down in a near impossible bunker on the 18th....Mickelson gives holing out a run on the 18th for the tie...to no avail.

Mickelson though impatiently layed up on the 18th from 230 yards in the rough. Had he waited 45 more seconds he would've seen Watson make his birdie putt....and then would've had 2 shot to tie him.....instead he left himself 74 yards and 1 shot. Dumb....unless his lie (sp???) was atrocious....but walk along announcer said he had a flier lie so????? Could've left himslef a long putt or a short chip for the tie...but nope.
