  • OneBuckeye
    If anyone can do it, its him. I will reserve judgment though.

    Dude's outta funds...who the hell is going to sign a 49 year old running back?
  • dat dude
    He claims he ran a 4.38 40 last February.
  • Bigdogg
    On behalf of 50 year old males everywhere, I hope he makes it.
  • Nate
    I'd love to see it. He is a physical best but I don't think he has the speed for it anymore.
  • GOONx19
    This is him at 48.

    Herschel wasn't that great when he was younger. I bet Al Davis would sign him.
  • derek bomar
    I want to bottle his genetics and drink it every day

    That article doesn't make sense, when this one was posted yesterday about his MMA:

    Think he could pass a drug test for PED's? There are lots and lots of banned substances that may have been helping him get that physique

    You serious Clark?

    This would be a great promotion for a UFL team. I'm on the phone right now if I run one of those franchises

    Despite his impressive physique, at his age the joints can't take the pounding. He won't make it out of training camp. Mark it.

    I heard about his diet and exercise regimen years ago, this article outlines it pretty well. Crazy.

    From article:
    * Does not train with free-weights
    * Uses bodyweight exercises, calisthenics, and conditioning, as well as martial arts training
    * Performs 750-1,000 push-ups daily
    * 2,000+ sit-ups daily
    * Skips breakfast
    * Trains for martial arts which includes wrestling, kickboxing, sparring and jujitsu
    * Dinner is the only meal consumed which consists of salad, soup, and bread
    * He is a vegetarian
    * Sleeps four hours a night
    How do you get that big without using free weights?

    I don't know...maybe he was way ahead of the curve and was slipping some HGH in with his morning Orange Juice. He's just a freak of nature is all.
  • jordo212000
    2000+ situps a day? haha man. Wonder if he does them consecutively or if breaks it up during different parts of the day?

    Yes. He had one great season (over 2,000 yards) and a few good seasons. Only rushed for 1,000 yards in a season twice.

    Ranks 171st all-time in rushing yards per game. 35th in rushing yards. 38th in rushing TDs. Only 2 Pro Bowls.

    He also wasted the prime years of his career in the USFL where he was an absolute monster. If you combine his USFL and NFL rushing totals, he's 5th on the all-time list. Can't fault his career for slowing after going to an awful Vikings team who didn't use him properly and also had nothing to build around him given that they traded so many picks to the Cowboys (which also created incredible pressure for him to perform considering he had to "live up" to a stupid trade that he didn't make). He still ranks 8th all time in total yardage (rushing, receiving, return). One of only six players with 60+ rushing touchdowns and 20+ receiving touchdowns.

    This doesn't even take into account that he was, without much argument, one of the greatest college football players of all-time. Make no mistake about it, we're talking about a VERY talented football player/athlete.
