Bengal Fans????

justincredibleThis thread is kinda funny. Bengals are 8-3, swept the Steelers, 6-0 in division and you start this thread calling them out? IF the Steelers make the playoffs I am sure the Bengals would love to host them.
-
voewoodyI could really care less honestly.. You are right the Bengals have been terrible for years and hopefully they are turning things around. Its just funny this team that hasn't won a playoff game in 19 years and "isn't even decent" has beaten the almighty Steelers twice this year... oh wait nevermind they dont count since Polamalu didn't play... silly me. If the Steelers make the playoffs and beat the Bengals good for them it wouldn't be anything new for Bengals fans to deal with.. but saying just wait till next time the bengals play the steelers it will be over by halftime if we are healthy.. that is great logic!!!
"If coach would have put me in we would have won state... I can throw a ball over that mountain!!" -

Individually? No. Collectively? Um...yes. Not even close. I think any Bengals fans would gladly trade having those five guys for the Steelers to have Polamalu.dont_belong wrote:
Are ANY of these players the same caliber as Troy Polamalu?RiverRat13 wrote: I guess I forgot where the Bengals have had zero injuries this year. Like their best pass rusher, best deep threat, and a starting safety are done for the year to go with their best linebacker not playing in Pittsburgh and their best running back only playing a quarter and a half in that game. -
JawbreakerThis is the third time in my life, as a Bengals fan, that i am happy i stuck it out with them. I could care less at this point in time about playoff match ups. At this point I want them to finish strong. It is fun to watch them this year knowing they have a chance to win every Sunday.
-
dont_belongThe only reason I brought up Polamalu was the comment about quit your whining, all teams have injuries. Which I agree with, but when I still have to hear about an injury from four years on a monthly basis from most Bengal fans I know, then certainly Steeler fans can make a comment that without Polamalu the Steelers are a different team.

By that same token, as a Steeler fan, I'd love to play Cincy in a playoff game at their place. I don't think either team or their fans are scared of that matchup and frankly....neither side has reason to be too overconfident about such a matchup (based on Steelers losing twice to Cincy this season and the Steelers winning a playoff game at Cincy a few years back).justincredible wrote: This thread is kinda funny. NateAs a Browns fan, the Bengals will make the playoffs while the Steelers will be chilling in Findlay.

thavoiceLongtime steelers fan here......
What I see in the bengals this year is similiar to what i have seen from the steelers in the past. Play good defense, run the ball on offense. that formula works if ya an do it. CP is good enough to win games on his own.
Two hard fough wins vs the steelers but they werent dominating. First was a game steelers allowed the bengals to stay it and the second was just a street brawl and both coulda went either way.
Come playoff time I think IF they have a rematch I wouldnt count out either team. I imagine the spread would be even...or bengals by 3 which they give to home teams normally.
My question is this........last i read this week nearly 6,000 tickets were left for this weekend. yeah..its the Lions but still....having a great year...first place...swept the division......i know...times are tough for many but still.........
Still a long season..anything can happen Dont know if the Bengals are ready for being a true SB contender but ya never know.
I dont mind the bengals doin well...I dont hate them like I do cleve -
GymshoeAs a lifelong Bengals fan, yes, I am excited about this season. Don't forget that Paul Brown Stadium has a nice, long string of sellouts which should tell you that Bengals fans are some of the most loyal in the NFL.
You won't hear me needlessly bragging. It's the NFL, anything can happen. Look at last season when the Bengals looked so good early in the season and then Carson goes down and we end up with Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB.
This is a team that has worked hard to get where they are. They played arguably the toughest early season schedule of anyone. They have earned their props. -

Quick...tell me about some draft prospects for the upcoming draft. Browns fans are usually the most knowledgeable about the draft at this point in the season.Keebler wrote: As a Browns fan, the Bengals will make the playoffs while the Steelers will be chilling in Findlay. -

BTW, it will be tough for the Steelers but the division is not sealed yet for the Bungles. They have a couple of tough games heading down the stretch and the Steelers have the easiest remaining schedule in the division, and amongst all the wild card contenders. It's going to get really interesting! -

I'm sorry that I'm stating my opinion based on performance so far this year. I'm not a typical know-it-all Browns fan. I love football more than the Browns so football > Browns. Tell me one reason why my comment is not logical. They aren't even in at a wild card spot right now. They will not win the division at this point. There are hotter teams in the AFC right now that are fighting for those 2 wild card spots also. Pittsburgh is a TOTALLY different team without Troy. You have Hines Ward calling out Big Ben because of a head injury. Something needs to change if they want to make the playoffs.killer_ewok wrote: Quick...tell me about some draft prospects for the upcoming draft. Whether or not the Steelers make the playoffs...the team won't be "chilling in Findlay." Logic you say? The Steelers are very much in the Wild Card hunt at this point. Troy should be back for Green Bay and the schedule is pretty favorable down the stretch. That's my logic. The Steelers have a lot of players who know what it takes to win down the stretch. That's my logic. When they're firing on all cylinders.....they can play with anybody and IMO could beat anybody in a playoff game on the road.....that's my logic. They've hit a rough stretch and they can still get healthy and hot at the right time. That's my logic. The division is pretty much a done deal. I'll concede that. But making the playoffs is far from a done deal. To count the Steelers out of the Wild Card hunt at this point is silly IMO.Keebler wrote:

Al CaponeIm predicting the Steelers to be the 5 seed in the afc. Im praying Cincy is the 4 seed.

I'd say the Denver game is the definition of "giving a game away," wouldn't you?se-alum wrote:
So when they won the close games, they earned them. When they lost, they gave it away, and the teams that beat them didn't earn it?? Spoken like a typical Bengals fan. They earned those wins. The only game I'd say they "snatched from the jaws of defeat" was the first Pittsburgh game.
They flat out gave away the Denver game in which they managed the clock perfectly and scored when they needed.
The Oakland game they dominated the entire game, made 2 very poor mistakes in the final 50 seconds and it cost them 10 points.
I'll be conservative and say they should probably be 9-2, but still.
As for the Oakland game, stuff happens. Oakland made 2 big plays and earned the victory. With that said, other than the first Pittsburgh game, the Bengals don't have a W that you can say they were out-played and the other team did everything they could to assist in the Bengals' winning.
I'm not sure how long you've been around, but the last thing I am is a homer. I've always been skeptical of the Bengals under Marvin Lewis, even in 2005 when they were in a similar position. For the first time in eight years, I don't think it's a fluke. The team is different, they go about things differently and they can definitely play with anyone in the NFL.
I'd say most Bengals' fans haven't felt that way in a LONG time. That was my initial point. -
Al CaponeI hear that Cincy is having trouble selling tickets to their game Sunday. Even their fans know the outcome of this season. Theyve seen it before.

Not true. The Bengals actually have the easiest schedule. They play the Lions, Chiefs, Jets, Vikings, and Chargers while the Steelers have to play the Raiders, Browns, Packers, Ravens, and Dolphins.rock_knutne wrote: the Steelers have the easiest remaining schedule in the division, and amongst all the wild card contenders. -

Huh? The Steelers will be favored in each of their remaining games. The Bengals will be dogs to both Minnesota and San Diego, especially since both are on the road.coach_bob1 wrote:

voewoodyI would much rather be playing the Packers and Ravens than the Vikings and Chargers... Although those 2 games will gauge just how good or "not even decent" of a team we are... Either way the Bengals control their destiny win 3 out of 5 and we clinch the AFCN, win 2 and we need a Pitt or Balt loss whomever comes in 2nd. The bengals need to win out and clinch the #2 seed that should be the goal!!

redstreak one8-3 for Cincy with the tie breaker between Baltimore and Pittsburgh
6-5 for both Baltimore and Pittsburgh with 1 head to head match up remaining.
Now my math is rusty, but Pittsburgh would have to win 3 out of 5 games to the Bengals 0 wins. 4 out of 5 with the Bengals 1 win or 5 out of 5 with 2 Bengals wins. Yes the Bengals have Detroit, Minnesota, San Diego, Kansas City and New York Jets. At the absolute worst, I see 1 win for the Bengals, which would mean 4 out of 5 for Pittsburgh. I will take those odds! LOL -
Al CaponeHow long before Benson and Johnson start feuding over carries?
-
osu45804I think it's just funny that SOME steelers fans are jealous of the Bengals success this season
-
Al CaponeHavent accomplished anything successful yet.

KitnaTheGreatThe Steelers couldn't beat the Bengals on Mars this season. Quit being butt hurt Capone you might have another stroke.
Coming into this season I simply thought this may be the last season for Marvin but man do him and Zim have this team turned around. They are playing a playoff style game right now. I'm still getting used to them running so much but it's nice to have that defense to fall back on as well.
