CB ='s Chris Bosh or Cry Baby?

  CHICAGO -- Miami Heat power forward Chris Bosh left the United Center limping and upset Saturday night. Not so much at the pain in his left ankle as how it got there.
  
  Bosh sprained the ankle in the Heat's 99-96 loss to the Bulls when Chicago rookie center Omer Asik fell on his leg chasing a loose ball at the end of the third quarter. Bosh was going after the rolling ball when Asik dove to the floor, collapsing Bosh's lower leg.
  
  X-rays were negative but Bosh missed the fourth quarter and may have an MRI in the next few days in Miami to determine the extent of the injury. The initial prognosis is that it wasn't a severe sprain.
  
  "C'mon, that is how guys get hurt, that is how serious injuries happen," Bosh said.
  
  "You've got to watch people's legs. I know guys want to hustle and everything but we all want to play and provide for our families and have a job." <------LOL
  
  Bosh was immediately frustrated with Asik, who has worked his way into coach Tom Thibodeau's lineup mostly through hustle and fighting for loose balls. Before he left the floor, Bosh shook hands with Asik but still was salty about the play after the game.
  
  "We all want to be healthy and that is very important," said Bosh, who had 11 of his 17 points in the third quarter before the injury. "If it is by somebody's leg, don't dive for the ball, it's too close."
  
  The Heat ended the game without two of their three stars as LeBron James missed his second consecutive game with his own sprained left ankle. James tested out the injury before the game on the court but had trouble cutting and was held out.
  
  James' improvement indicated he may be able to play Tuesday when the Heat return home to play the Hawks.
  
  "[James] feels much better, the last 48 hours there has been significant progress," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "We'll re-evaluate him on Tuesday."
  
  Bosh's short-term status is up in the air.
  
  "It could've been a lot worse so I consider myself lucky," Bosh said. "The damage is mild, so I'll just do the proper treatment and what the doctors tell me to do. I couldn't push off of it. In situations like that you have to keep the big picture in mind."

  The "big picture" is that the Heat are going to get throttled by the Celtics or Magic in the playoffs.
  
  I swear professional athletes are getting worse and worse.....my god if they lose an eyelash they sit out a frickin week. Like Hoops23 said, grow a pair and earn that ridiculous overpaid salary that you make "playing" (or watching) a game.

  I didn't see the play, so I can't comment specifically to this play, but I always thought it be a dirty play when someone dives at someone's legs in basketball. However, it you are going for a loose ball, it happens.

  Why else would a person dive at your legs in basketball other than going for a loose ball or the ball period?

  Someone goes up for a jump shot and gets boxed out before coming to ground. Go up for a layup and get his legs knocked from under him. Go up for rebound and get legs taken out. And as for a loose ball, it is one thing to dive for the ball, it's another thing to dive at someone and then locate the ball (happens pretty often).

  Those first 3 examples aren't diving at the legs plays in all cases the defender is upright. In a loose ball situation some players get on the floor, nothing wrong with that. Its usually the player who goes non chalant after a loose ball that gets hurt. Not adirty play at all.

  I understand what you are saying, and my original wording was probably incorrect. I haven't seen this play, and doubt it was dirty. But I was just speaking generally that in basketball going after someone's legs is dirty, IMO.

  There was nothing dirty about the play. CB went after the ball like it belonged to him... Asik, being the hustle guy that he is, DOVE for the loose ball.
  
  The sense of entitlement that these 3 guys show is unbelievable, like everything should be given to them.

  I didn't see the play, I was speaking in a general sense. If you would have read my first post, you would have read it.
