How does a 7-9 team make the playoffs over 2 teams with better overall records?? Oh that's right because they won their division, which really doesn't matter.
The NFL contradicts themselves by saying division winners make the playoffs even though the 6 games in the division are equal to the other 10 games. They need to go to a top 6(or 8) in each Conference playoff system. -

But wouldn't that mean that a team that goes 6-0 won the division? -
wildcats20This happened 2 or 3 years ago too, maybe not 6-0, but the division winner had a worse division record than a team who didn't win the division.

wildcats20I just feel like if you are going to crown a division winner, then do exactly that. Like I said before, right now the NFL is saying that the divisional games are meaningless. While this example probably never could happen; a team could go 0-6 in the division but still WIN the division if they go 10-0 outside of their division.
