Cavs fans...question

  • wes_mantooth
From what you have seen, are the Cavs the worst team in the NBA?
  • wes_mantooth
I know they have a couple more wins than Sactown, but I really think they may be the worst in the NBA by seasons end.
  • KR1245
    They might be...

According to Chad Ford the Cavs are going to blow this thing up

    Chad Ford
They've been quietly shopping their entire roster. They are looking for cap relief, draft picks and young players. They are going to blow it up. Anderson Varejao probably has the most trade value. It's hard to find bigs that play tough defense at that age and price tag. Mo Williams has some value as does Antawn Jamison and J.J. Hickson.
  • wildcats20
    Yes.

I haven't seen a team this year that is worse.
  • wes_mantooth
I can't believe that Jamison or Mo have value...
  • wildcats20
Mo would make a solid back up PG/SG for contending team. But he is NOT a starter anymore on a contending team.
  • wes_mantooth
Yeah, but when you are talking a lot of money for a backup player...same goes for Jamison.

Not a Cavs fan, but I would say yes. The Kings currently have a worse record, but if Tyreke Evans foot injury is resolved along with the improved play of Cousins recently, they'd easily be more competitive. If I were a Cavs fan, I'd expect a fire sale.

Blowing out yet another team tonight....rolling to a 5-2 record. I'd love to see how fast the "Cavs will not make the playoffs" crowd chime in on their utter ignorance regarding this subject.

    Where ya at Jordo?

Cavs will will win over 45 games this year and easily make the playoffs.

This is just one of many gems from this thread:

I really wasn't that far off on the Knicks :) . I love watching them play and Amare is my boy, but they currently have the 6th best record in the East. The main reason I had them 7th or 8th was because I did not see a guy like Felton emerging
  • wes_mantooth
lol...I knew this would become an "I told you so" type thread.

Anyhow, people thinking the Cavs would be a playoff team were def off, but considering how bad the bottom of the East is...I guess it could have happened.

haha, the OP kind of lends itself to that sort of thing. The preseason thread immediately came to mind when I saw this thread.

The win goes goes to hoops though in that thread:
Some people honestly think the Cavs don't have any talent... This is mind boggling. This team, as is, is good enough to win 40+ games.
He then went on to accuse me and dynasty of being the same person or lovers because we did not agree with him.
  • Mulva
I'm going to go with Washington. They still haven't won a single game on the road. The Cavs and Kings are right there though.
  • IggyPride00
The difference between the other shitty teams and the Cavs is at least those teams have hope/young talent.

Sacramento (Cousins/Evans), Minnesota (Love/Beasely/Johnson), Washington (Wall) all at least have some young talent for their fan base to cling to that you can see signs of better days ahead.

The Cavs presently have jack shit as far as young "core" pieces that have All-star futures.

That is why while they may not be the worst team record wise (although they are getting there), they appear to be the most hopeless among the losing teams.

I think so. I thought they'd win 33 games this year. Obviously that was off, and I honestly wouldn't mind the fire sale. I love the guys we've got but they're all role players on a team headed in no clear direction. It's too bad their isn't as many clear college stars this year as there were in years past. I don't see us making the playoffs next year (if there is one) either at this point so we might get lucky with the 2012 draft class. It should have some real studs.

I cant find the link to the blog I read the other day but it was saying that the Cavs are the oldest team that don't have a shot at the playoffs. It provided a chart of the teams that wouldn't be making the playoffs on that day the blog was written. It was basically saying that the Cavs are at a stand still because they don't have much youth and are a very bad team. I knew that going into the season but reading this made it more known how bad of shape they were in.

...and this goes along with what Iggy is saying(did not read it before I posted).
  • Mr. Russell
Is it possible to blow it up, but still keep Andy :( It will take years and years and years if we get rid of all viable talent we have.
  • bigdaddy2003
    I think they are.

I love when people try to be the "I told you so" guy, as if it gives them some instant E-cred smh...

If I had as much time on my hands, I'd go through old threads where you look like a dumbass, but then again, it doesn't take much to find that LOL.

And you and Dynasty are either A) the same person or B) Sphincter pals.

As for the Cavs being the worst, no. But they are close. As Mulva said, Washington is still the worst. Cleveland will blow shit up though.

This shows how good LeBron really was with Cleveland. Yet the same haters wanted to say he was the problem. He took a team with almost the exact same roster to 66 and 61 wins back-to-back seasons. Now minus Lebron, only 8 wins heading into the New Year? Maybe James overachieved in Cleveland seeing how the squad is being exposed without him.

    No.

This Cleveland team was BUILT for LeBron. A bunch of shooters around him.

Also, LeBron isn't the only player missing from last years team... Shaq, Z, and Delonte were all key contributors as well.

Valid points. Can't argue with that.

Ship them all out of Cleveland.....

The only players I would keep off our roster would be Gibson and Hickson, other than that adios!

That is exactly right.....BUT you would think being NBA players that without a few guys you could still win some games (More than 8).....Shaq and Z were both out of their prime the past few years in Cleveland, and Delonte was a headcase last year.

Even with the Departure of Lebron, I still thought we could win 35+ games this season....I was WAY off haha.

Team management needs to build a team around a Center OR a Point Guard.......History shows you can't build a team around a Forward and win a championship (look at Cavs-Lebron and Nuggets-Anthony)
