have been excecuted for his role killing dogs that didn't perform in fights.

I've never heard of this fuck and likely will never hear of him again, but that is still absurd.

He's a FOX News analyst, not sports.

Never heard of Tucker Carlson? He's bounced around from network to network over the years, landed at fox last year. Stupid comment...pure and simple.

For what its worth, he is a huge animal advocate...
    http://www.politico.com/blogs/onmedia/1210/Tucker_Carlson_Michael_Vick_should_have_been_executed.html
Carlson is well known as an animal advocate. For the past couple years, he and Ana Marie Cox have served as spokespeople for the Washington Animal Rescue League, and in fact co-hosted a holiday party for the organization just this month.

“It’s the oldest animal rescue league in Washington,” Cox said. “It’s a no-kill shelter, which appeals to my bleeding heart liberalism, but it also accepts no government funding, which appeals to Tucker’s libertarianism.”

She and Carlson were approached by the league after the organization found her name in its database of supporters.
What Vick did was sick....no question...

    This guys a jackass.

Did Vick go through any sort of therapy? Some of the things he was reported to have done are pretty fucked up, picking up a dog and slamming it into the ground over and over until it dies? I'm sorry, that dude has some serious mental issues.

No, he just doesn't feel a personal connection to animals like the majority of the people in this country do.

I love dogs as much as anyone and I would never condone hurting any animal, BUT he didn't kill a person.

And really, what he did* was no different than "Joe" going out back and shooting his old dog to kill it. You don't see people getting all up and in arms about that kind of stuff. And that shit happens every single day.

*What he did as far as killing the dogs, NOT HOW he went about it.

Um no, its way different. Do you know how dog fighting works?

You really believe what you just said?

"I'm a Christian, I've made mistakes myself, I believe fervently in second chances," Carlson said on the show.
    Clearly not.

Obviously what Vick did was extremely terrible and I am a huge dog lover (I have two of my own) but to suggest that Vick should have been executed is just ridiculous.
  • Mulva
He should go with the LeBron defense, and claim that he didn't know what the word executed meant before he saw it on the internet.

I worked for 15 years and still volunteer at an animal reserve that used to be just an ordinary shelter that has now grown into a big company. Ive seen animals from all paths of life. Ive been around animals my entire life.

What Vick did, while completely sick and twisted, is nothing like killing a human or whatever the other poster said and the columnist....lol I didnt even read it after seeing the headline.

I honestly dont even think Vick wouldve been in jail if there wasnt money changing hands, believe me, had this been a purely "recreational" thing he never wouldve seen the insides of a 10x10.

I was very upset when I heard this, but now, I just have to say fuck it. He did his time, he paid his dues and good for him for being able to bounce back.

Cant hate on him any longer.

I didn't even think Vick should go to prison. But to me, prison is kind of archaic for things like this. I think our community would have been better served with punishment through Vick's pocketbook and community service instead of us paying him to go to prison.

I really don't get the whole prison thing for things like this.

Maybe because it was a Federal offense?

Here is one thing of many that Vick did to a dog:

"Gill said that in a later interview with the FBI Vick acknowledged carrying a dog to a co-defendant, who tied a rope around the dog's neck. Gill said Vick then said, "I dropped the dog."

Definitely worth some type of punishment, probably a huge fine and community service. ... to me. Not saying I agree with what he did.

Fines and Community service probally wouldn't have changed the behavior, I can almost with certainty guarantee that Vick will never do something like this again after serving time in prison.
  • rydawg5
disagree.. usually people are worse after prison. Even Vick said "At first I was very sad and learned my lesson very quickly I knew this wasn't the right place to be in. After awhile, I had to remind myself that I was getting to comfortable in this place and this wasn't me"

I Just think there is a reason why many people who go to prison go back. The sentences are probably too long and you become a terrible person from the community you live in.

Its nothing more than medieval type of punishment.
