6-9 Seattle Seahawks Control Their Own Destiny

  • Ironman92
I can't wait for the 18 week season and then the 7-11 NFC West Champ can keep a 12-6 team from the playoffs.

Yes, becuase the odds of it happening on a regular basis are so high.

Exactly. This certainly isn't an every year occurrence.

Actually it has never happened in the history of the NFL (team with a losing record winning their division) and it hasn't happened this year yet, Ironman is just being an "alarmist".
I don't see why rules have to be changed for something that has never happened and if it does this year so be it.

They don't. You don't waste time on flukes.

Please tell me where I mentioned anything about changing of any rules.

I'm just saying it sucks and is stupid......but oh well that is how it is.....and I started a thread about it.....not really looking inot starting the necessary paperwork to file suit or anything.....just starting a thread.

I think it's stupid the 6-9 Seahawks who have been outscored by over 100 points and play in the worst division control their destiny to host a playoff game.....likely versus a 12-4 Saints team.

I'm not attempting to be an alarmist.....I was trying to start a somewhat interesting thread. Most of us love football and most of us find it hard to believe a 6-9 team is in such a situation.

No rule changes for me. Everyone in the playoffs has earned it per NFL rules and guidelines. Can't win if you don't play.
  • Red Saul
The fact that Seattle at 7-9 would get to host the defending Super Bowl champion who almost doubled them in wins a total joke.
  • dazedconfused
im sure the saints love this...they get a bye in the divisional round but just have to travel to st louis or seattle to do so
  • Ironman92
or have to travel to a place where no one else in the country is giving them a chance in hell....how often has that happened for the home team in the first round of the playoffs

2 teams will play 1 will win....it SHOULD be the Saints but maybe Rollie Massimino will show up.
  • Skyhook79
Or Norman Dale and Jimmy Chitwood will show up.
You do know that if the Seahawks do make the Playoffs and happen to win 1 maybe 2 maybe 3 games that this thread will join the sq_crazies thread of fail HOF?
  • bigorangebuck22
I hope the Seahawks don't make it. I want the Browns or Bengals to forever have the dubious distinction of being the first and only sub .500 team to make the playoffs.

that would be awesome...and I can see them winning one at home, but they are god awful on the road.

The North will never be that bad.

eh..it all goes in cycles. When I was a kid...the Browns won the division with a 8-8 record.
  • Ironman92
skyhook.......I can imagine the 3,000 different ways you could easily counter the same statement you made.

I'm quite comfortable in feeling the Seahawks will not be playing in the SB this season.

If the Seahawks defeated the 7-8 Rams at Seattle and then won a home playoff game......that would not be near the FAIL or however you cool guys want to put it......now if they won 2 playoffs game....then you have something.

I don't know about that when you throw this statement in with this thread it definitely has the potential.

I know most of the county wil be on the edge of their seats for the 34-14 beating by the visiting Saints in the divisional round.
  • Ironman92
potential for what? I say the Saints will win 34-14 and if SEATTLE defeats the Saints in the first round this thread will be as high as any past thread on the mention of the fail threads....ok

I'll pray to the good lord that nothing like that happens so I won't be such a failure....hell, I'm already an alarmist.

Seahawks may get the Bears if the Packers win.

Looks like Georgetown did a little better job 26 years later.
