McNabb = the Jennifer Aniston of the NFL

This guy is a great QB who just can't seem to catch a break. He did nothing but win in Philly and there was ALWAYS a QB controversy. Now, he's in Washington, and even after signing a lofty contract extension not even 2 months ago, he finds himself getting BENCHED in favor of REX freaking GROSSMAN?!

There's gotta be some inter-dynamics involving McNabb (ala Jennifer Aniston). Why this guy cannot get any love is beyond me.

    Thoughts?

Not only is it unbelievable that Rex Grossman is still employed by a NFL team, but its' beyond me what goes through Shanahan's head.

This is the worst situation to be out of the playoff race and then going to a QB that isn't like the future starter.

    It's basically a waste of everyone's time.

It wouldn't be a big deal benching McNabb now with the team out of it to get a look at a younger, perhaps promising QB but Grossman is just a random stiff.

I think the team should've prepared for this and had a young QB on the roster to play in this situation.

    From article:
McNabb's agent, Fletcher Smith, told ESPN that the Redskins' decision is "disrespectful to Donovan. He has not been more disrespected his whole career than he has this season. It's absolutely ridiculous."
    Couldn't agree more.

What have bothers me about all the flack and shots McNabb been taking over the years is he is a guy who would have his picture next to the word 'class' in the NFL. If this was someone like Terrell Owens dealing with all of this, then i wouldn't have any sympathy for him. But McNabb always seem to be put in the worse situations.

Shanahan has really butchered nearly every single situation this season. If he weren't Mike Shanahan, I'm guessing his seat would be very warm right now. He is so arrogant!

John Elway isn't walking through that door.

I'd gladly take McNabb over Palmer

There are plenty of teams for him to go to next season.

    Cincinnati
    San Francisco
    Arizona (no doubt)
    Carolina
    Tennessee
    Denver
    Minnesota

You would certainly think there is a market for him.

And I would even add Cleveland to that list.

It could be because he has 14 TD and 15 INT, and has only posted QB ratings of 80+ in 3 games all season.

The mistake isn't benching him, the mistake was signing a struggling 34 year old to a ridiculous extension to begin with. Shanahan has butchered this entire season, but if you don't want to get benched then don't play like shit.

I'd still like to see a team give Sage Rosenfels a shot.

He's 32 but I think could be like a Rich Gannon type. A guy that didn't play much and then late in his career finds the right spot and thrives.

No QB in the league would have good numbers with the Wr's he has to pass to lol

This. There is absolutely no talent on the offensive side of the ball in Washington.

Washington's had a season so fucked up that it kinda almost might be worse than Minnesota.

    MINN:
    1. Favre will he/won't he saga.
    2. Favre ineffective in early part of season.
    3. Team trades for Randy Moss.
    4. Childress releases Moss a couple weeks later after incident with meal caterers.
    5. Childress fired.
    6. Favre hurt; streak ends even with extra day to improve health due to your fucking dome collapsing under snow. I mean, WTF?
    7. Back-up Jackson hurt that same week.

    SKINS
    1. Haynesworth-Shanny feud. This thing could be about 5 points due to all the assorted flare-ups such as players early in the season hinting that Shanny was going to far to prove a point and a locker room vet calling out Haynesworth for being selfish later in the year.
    2. McNabb benched late in game so Grossman can run two-minute drill. Grossman delivers...an epic FAIL. Shanahan later gives about 15 different reasons for his decision.
    3. McNabb then gets a healthy extension despite coach giving a 101 Things I Hate About You seminar. Disclaimer: extension can be voided at will with exception of extra $3.5 million this year.
    4. Haynesworth indefinitely suspended.
    5. McNabb benched.

    Utter hilarity.

I'd take Caroline off that list. No way either side will want him there with Andrew Luck on the bench.

Minnesota might be a very good fit.

Look who Sam Bradford is throwing to. Or Josh Freeman. Or Jay Cutler. Or Vince Young pre-injury. Or Jason Campbell (who by the way put up better numbers with an equally untalented Washington team last year and was traded because it still wasn't good enough).

Plenty of QBs have and are putting up solid numbers with awful receiving corps. I'm not saying it was all his fault because it obviously isn't, but I don't think it should offend anyone that he is getting benched considering what his stats are. He isn't getting it done.

You guys are all BLIND....Mcnabb is over the hill and washed up. Andy Reid always seems to know the right time to get rid of players.

He didn't really have anyone in Philly either. The one year he had TO he choked.

Guess I'm the only one who was hoping to catch some pics of Aniston.

Maybe the truth of the matter is that both McNabb and Aniston can't catch a break for a reason. I am convinced that Aniston must be lousy in the sack and/or a total psycho b-youth. Otherwise dudes would be lining up in the streets to be with her.

As for McNabb, it obviously isn't working out in Washington. It's not like he is tearing it up and will be the future of this franchise. It's time for Washington to try something else.

Is Andy Reid Brad Pitt and M Vick A Jolie?

Never even looked at it that way, you're probably right.
