    Not been arrested?

Took his team to the playoffs.

Carson has made it to the playoffs twice. Russel has done absolutely nothing besides get fat, get arrested and get released after only 3 years of being drafted #1 overall. Carson hasn't done a whole lot but has done more than Russel.

Alex Smith is another. Tim Couch is another...

Vince Young might be looking for a team next year
  • bigkahuna
    Ryan Leaf...

As a Steelers fan, I have to say you can't over look his stats from his best years. There have been times, where he/the offense mimicked the "Best show on turf" from the Rams back in the early 2000s

Couch got fucked. He was a better quarterback than his time in Cleveland showed.

Leaf didnt go number 1 overall. As a Colts fan....THANK GOD!

Agree completely. But Al asked for #1 overall picks who have done less than Carson. Despite his potential and skills, Couch does indeed fit the bill. Not his fault per se, but Carson has a much better resume.

    David Carr

    OK then JaMarcus Russell then

But I thought Russell was.overrated in college

What is Palmers QB rating this year and where does it stack up against others in the league?
  • voewoody
24th with a 78.1 rating!!!! Only in front of Mcnabb, Henne, Hasselbeck, Sanchez, Favre, DA, and Claussen.

He really makes me want to puke every week watching him. I used to be a Carson apologist but he is fucking terrible and nobody can blame his idiotic throws on the line anymore.

78.1. His 18 picks tie him with Favre as worst in the league in that category (although Palmer has a 21-10 lead in TDs and has played one more game).

Comparable QBs to his rating are: Chad Henne, Donovan McNabb, Shaun Hill and Sam Bradford. He's ranked 24 of 31 listed QBs in this stat.

Terrell Owens has wrecked the Bengals and Carson Palmer this season. Seems to me Carson spends most of the time making sure TO gets enough looks in a game rather than just running a productive offense. TO has ruined any momentum that offense had coming into this year.

No, Carson's inability to accurately the throw the ball farther than 15 yards downfireld wrecked the Bengals this season.

Terrell Owens has been one of the (if only) bright spot of this team this year.

Or the fact that it will be 3rd and 10 or 3rd and 15 and Carson will continuously throw to a 3 yard route at least 5 times a game. Or that in the 4th Qrt. when the game is on the line they throw a short pass to the back up TE running the same short route 3 plays in a row when it didn't work the first or second time. Things like that are why they are terrible this year.

Still.................Too much time is spent trying to cater to TO's ego!! He may have been a bright spot? It was because he has had so many throws his way to keep him from whining! It ruibs the flow of any offense.

    He's had 139 looks and 9 drops.........................Ocho has had 122 looks and 8 drops.

yeah T.O. definitely has had a pretty nice season. He's been a model citizen too.

I just think that when they inevitably go to the rebuilding route... I don't want him anywhere close to Andrew Luck (other QB not named Palmer)

jordo, you expect Mike Brown to blow this team up? What's the chances of these guys being around next season?
    1. Marvin
    2. Stinko
    3.T.O.
    4. Palmer

I don't think Marvin Lewis would be back even if Mike Brown did make the offer. As for the others, who knows. I think we're stuck with Palmer. TO has had a great, bounce-back season here but no one wants to be part of this train wreck. With Mike Brown, anything's possible (and yet usually works out for the worst).
Bottom line, if eight months from now, Palmer is still 'the guy' at QB (as in they didn't draft anyone noteworthy) and they start the season off looking awful and clueless (ala Patriots opener this past year) then...I don't know. There might be a riot in Cincinnati.
