Celtics @ Cavs
-
wildcats20In the prep game for the big return on Thursday, the Cavs look pretty good so far.
23-21 after 1.
And a TERRIBLE call on Rondo's half court heave to end the 1st quarter.
lol and of course...ball don't lie, Rondo misses 2 of 3. -
wes_mantoothlol....I love that all of the interviews that Byron Scott did this week went like this....
"are you worried that the team is looking past the Celtics?"
lol......I just find that amazing that it is a concern that an average team could be looking past the reining Eastern Conference Champs.... -
Commander of AwesomeWish I could see the game. I've only been able to watch a handful of games this year, a far cry from usual min 75 games a yr I watch.
-
wildcats20You don't get Fox Sports CoA?
-
Commander of AwesomeNope not anymore, not since I moved. Shame I miss Austin Carr.

Find it on there. It's NBA TV's coverage, but they use the home team's broadcast. So you get Fred and AC. -
wes_mantoothCavs getting their asses handed to them...kinda expected it.
Down by 19 with under 7 mins left.. -
Commander of Awesomeyeah I turned off the box score, it was hard to watch the score change.
-
osu45804Only got to see the 2nd Half -- But Rondo looked great tonight, the 3 day rest looked to have helped his sore hamstring.
-
jordo212000From looking at this thread and few others over the past week, I think we all know who the true Cavs fans are. I've noticed that a lot of the usual suspects who shot their mouths off last year have been nowhere to be found. There used to be a in-game thread for almost every single game. This year it is only key matchups.
-
Crimson streakIt sucks living in pa I can't get any cabs games unless they are a nationally televised game ( lol) or they play Philly
-
Y-Town SteelhoundI think this was a bit of a case of looking ahead. Obviously Thursday is the biggest game of the regular season for the Cavs and they looked generally disinterested in this game. Hopefully with an insanely raucous crowd they'll be able to play a little better defensively in terms of contesting shots and moving around.
-
closer26Yeah it was looking ahead a bit, although when matched up against the Celtics I certainly don't expect a win. I'm kind of anxious to see what happens Thursday, but also worried about players being too amped and not playing under control and calm.
-
grodtMad I couldn't watch this one tonight. I was hoping they'd come out and put up more of a fight but Boston is a much better team and you have to imagine the fact that Miami is coming Thursday had to affect their play some. Andy, AP and Boobie all had pretty good games. Rondo killed us again but what else is new.
-
hoops23It's obvious games like this are going to happen. The C's are just that much more better than us now.
I've been hearing some murmurs that Iggy to the Cavs is gaining some steam.
I'd like that move for the short term, but I'm not sure how much I like it past two years. I know he just signed a pretty big contract a year or two ago as well.
However, when I watch this team, as I have for a majority of their games this season, there are two key weaknesses.
Scoring from the 2/3 spots and low post consistency.
JJ Hickson is honestly a rookie. I know it's his 3rd year, but with the amount of playing time and development he got under Mike Brown, it's like he's learning how to truly play the game for the first time. He needs to man up though and get more consistent. Sometimes he looks like he's going to bust out to the athletic freak at PF who will drop 20 a game, then other times he looks like nothing more than a glorified role player.
Getting a guy like Iggy would do a lot to improve the team this year. It would most likely make us a playoff team, possibly in the 7th or 6th range.
Point is, the Cavs won't be winning a title in a long time, no matter what we do. You can't count on the lottery. You can't count on much of anything. There is a reason why the Lakers and Celtics have half of the leagues overall titles.
All I want is playoff basketball with a team that continues to put the right pieces together. -
bigdaddy2003I was listening to the post game show on WTAM and this guy called in and said that Boobie was a work in progress and that he was the next Rondo. Where does he see any of that with Gibson?
-
GOONx19I just wish they'd show the games in Kentucky. I've only had a chance to watch them four times so far. Always stuck following box scores.

Any idea what we would give in return. Picks and part of the TPE? I would like that deal short term as well.hoops23;582993 wrote:I've been hearing some murmurs that Iggy to the Cavs is gaining some steam.
I agree with your comments on JJ, have you been reading RCF lately? They had a thread over there basically summarizing what you said. Yet a lot of people are giving up on him already.
Sadly I haven't been able to watch many games in North Carolina other than online. Have either Manny Harris or Samardo Samuels been getting any play lately? I think Manny Harris could be a solid role player for us going forward. -

Iggy would give us a legit scorer/defender. Depending on the deal (say all they wanted was Jamison) I would do it. RCF swings with the wind on players, earlier this season they were saying he's the next amare with Def. Which brings me to the point, not giving up on JJ for Amare is really looking dumb right now, that is if JJ means Amare plus keeping LBJ, which I suppose isn't a guarentee. -

IMO both were gone anyways. So then you have nothing. I still think JJ will be a very good player. The problem is that he has low basketball IQ. Until he fully understands his role both offensively and defensively in Scott's system, he's not going to be playing at the level he could be. -

One assimilation I did see on RCF was Byron Scott's handling of David West. Not really following his career I guess he started off similar to JJ (mid first rounder, thought to have potential but a low basketball IQ) and Scott really was key in developing him into an All-Star PF. Supposedly there were some conflicts at first between the two but then the light went on for West and he became the player we know now. Hoping the same thing happens here.Y-Town Steelhound;583116 wrote:I still think JJ will be a very good player. The problem is that he has low basketball IQ. KR1245I'm not a big fan of the Iggy rumors at all. He makes us better this year but his contract is awful.

You can say that about alot of fans though.
Take the Bengals for example.....those threads have all but died this season -

True but someone on here guaranteed that once the season got started there would be a game thread for each game and just as much discussion this year on the Cavs as there was last year. -
jordo212000
I can't usually say much because we have been getting Browns games for the past month; also if you look around there actually has been a decent amount of Bengal discussion despite the fact that we are badFrom looking at this thread and few others over the past week, I think we all know who the true Cavs fans are.
