Peyton Hillis.....95 more yards?

  • Ironman92
Less than 100 more yaards rushing and he'll be the first white back since Craig freaking James to rush for over 1,000 yards. I believe James went for around 1250 yards in 1985 and was killer as well in the playoffs for the Patriots.

Hillis is already at Mike Alstott level and seems to be equivalent except he is a good bit more agile.

    He's impressive.

I hate when Mike Alstott comes up when talking about Hillis. The only thing they have in common is skin color.
  • wes_mantooth
Well he is a bruiser like alstott as well....much more agile though
  • hoops23
Adrian Peterson, Jamal Lewis, Jim Brown, Earl Campbell, etc... They are/were all bruisers as well.

    Especially on jan 2nd!!
  • like_that
Wow, that is surprising to hear that Alstott never had 1000 yards.

My league is over by then. LOL

that is amazing. all they way back since 85

James had a hell of a year...much like Hillis is having....James was also over 100 yards in 2 playoff games that season.

Skin color aside....I still say he is similar to Alstott but with a nice amount of agility.

I think Hillis is like Roger Craig in style and ability; bruising , agile and above average receiving back.
  • stroups
Hillis reminds me of Beanie Wells in college

    Go PHINS!

Roger Craig?......I'm not going that far. Craig had a 1,000 rushing and receiving in one season....how many have done that in NFL history?

only one i can think of is Marhsall Faulk..did he ever get it?
  • Ironman92
yeah, Faulk did it once and was over 1300 yards rushing AND 750 yards receiving 4 straight seasons....beastly
  • Laley23
Marshall Faulk was my favorite player ever until Peyton Manning came along. Was the lone bright spot on some dismal Colt teams!

I still remember when he had to be traded, so sad. Good think Colts had Polian in charge who drafted Edge James, then with the picks for Faulk (IIRC) got Mike Peterson and Brad Scioli. Pretty good trade for both parties.

Hillis COULD get to those numbers this season, despite not being the feature back in the first few seasons.

I think Brian Westbrook had a 1000-1000 season also but I might be mistaken
  • Laley23
Westbrook never did, but on a similar note, I could see LeSean McCoy accomplishing the feat at some point in his career.

I said style and ability, not stats. But his stats for receiving are not too bad. He is projected at 1300 rush and 600 rec.
