A 27-year-old male reportedly was killed at Sunday's Bears-Eagles game after falling 50 feet at Soldier Field.

According to WLS News in Chicago, the man, who was unidentified, was in the columns area of the stadium when he fell and landed on the roof.

He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:24 p.m. (et).

    No further details were available.

The tragic news comes not long after a child attending a Lakers game at Staples Center fell over a barrier in a suite and was killed.

"Witnesses told emergency personnel that they saw the man run up to a ledge and jump."

    WTF......... thats crazy

Wow, crazy stuff. I wonder if he was just drunk and decided to do something stupid or if he was trying to kill himself? This, of course, assuming the witnesses are correct in that he ran and jumped off the ledge.

thats incredibly crazy and cites the need for better control on alcohol distribution during games as well as monitoring during tailgating

IPOTW. Sorry been drunk many times at sporting events, I have never done this. LMAO at you saying its someone else fault besides the individual to make sure they dont kill themselves.

I can't see myself being drunk enough to think that was a good idea while at the same time being coordinated enough to launch myself off of a ledge, but who knows.

Definitely alcohol will turn out to be involved.

I didn't say it was someone else's fault.

However, at the same time, I believe that more can be done at certain venues to prevent something like this from happening

Put Karen Holleran (sp?) ex OSU Pres. in charge of NFL Alcohol sales and this kinda tragedy is history.

No, you're deflecting accountability. Side note, I would love to see you try to limit beer (BULLSHIT IMO) at a stadium where there's 70K+. Its hard enough at a bar of 70 people.

I can't wait for the day for someone to kill himself using a banana then people come on here saying we need to "hold the grocery stores accountable for distributing such fruits"

No, you just move on when someone does something retarded like this, and forget it happened...Who gives a shit if this jackass jumped off soldier field and killed himself? and to say beer needs to be controlled cause of this is just retarded. It's not fucking acid

    Its fairly easy.

Most places shut off beer sales after the 3rd quarter/7th inning/etc....

I know this can't keep people from drinking outside the stadium and before hand or what not, but something can be done

Being ruled an accident. Still not sure what happened, but he may have jumped a barrier to have a cigarette and fallen off the ledge.

I agree with you but what does IPOTW mean?? It's bugging me, and urbandictionary didn't even have anything for it. I think you're making up acronyms, and I can't decide if that's okay or not. I guess all acronyms were made up at one point and just caught on, sooo....yeah. ttyl.
