Pittsburgh Penguins 2010-2011 season thread

^^^^^Low percentage? They came gunning for Brodeur in the third and just couldn't get anything past him and there were PLENTY of good scoring chances. Bylsma is not the problem and in a seven game series I like the Pens chances against anyone who wants to play that system gainst them.

Headed to the game now. Hope they can turn it around. Go Pens!

A 7 game series against a trap? The Pens might win 2 games at most against a trap.

Good game tonight. Place got revved up when they played Renegade and the towels came out. Staal was the #2 star...he came out with a Terrible Towel. Fleury was the #1 star and came out in a Steelers helmet. There was 1 fan there in a Jets jersey...they kept showing him and the crowd booed.

The bad news of the evening is according to the PG, Crosby is out of the All Star game.

I swear I could hear a pin drop it was so quiet at times during the game.

There really wasn't too much action during the game. Not alot of hitting. During commercial breaks they were playing some good stuff on the scoreboard.

Nice win last night, didn't get to watch it at all.

I guess I shouldn't say every game but I've never seen either of you predict a Pens win. At least I don't recall it. Of course, when things were going really good for the Pens.....it seemed that you guys steered clear for a few days unless you got the jones to rain on someone's parade or they finally lost one.

I guess it's all in the presentation since the content isn't ridiculously different. Modell was over-the-top and obvious while some others know how to get digs in while making it look like they're just "making a prediction" with no other agenda. Then, if you bring that up they say that our feathers are ruffled because they're not worshipping the Pens. That's just not the case. I just find it funny that the Pens would be winless if some of you were on point with your predictions. They have no heart when they lose but not a positive thing to say (or anything to say) when they had that winning streak going.

I mean, you're allowed to do that. Just don't be upset that we're not fooled by it. Nobody is asking you to love the Pens.......but predicting they're going to lose every time you post on this thread.......LOL, come on. If they were awful I could see it but they were (and still are) having a pretty good season. I guess you just can't bring yourself to predict that they'll win one game. Just be honest.....your goal is to get under people's skin.

    LET'S GO PENS

Ah, I just LOL at it all. Especially when I consider that certain people have expressed a shit-ton of disdain for this Dynasty dude because he does the same sort of "dissenting opinion" voice posting on teams they follow with the only real difference being that at least they make it clear they are in no way fans of Pittsburgh, as opposed to claiming either neutrality or being a fan willing to question the organization. It's still hilarious. He pissed them off to the point where they made it a goal to run him off...and then do the exact same sort of passive-aggressive "I'm not trolling, but you're going to lose this game...and that game...and you guys are unrealistic homers...and you're overrating your players" approach here.

Pens host the Islanders tonight.......last game before the All Star break.

Speaking of the All Star game, Crosby will not play or even attend the game. It's looking like Malkin will not participate either, both are out for tonight's game.

For the best. No point in playing in an exhibition if they're not able to play in games that actually matter. Crosby is starting to be worrisome. He's been out for a long time with his concussion...to the point where I'm starting to worry if it's serious to the point where, when he returns, he'll not be the same player, at least this year. You know...like being more tentative due to not wanting to take a hard shot. Might be a stupid worry, but I wasn't expecting it to take this long for him to be back on the ice and, right now, it seems like the day-to-day story is along the lines of "we'll just take it one day at a time".

^^^^^Absolutely agree. There no sense in pushing Sid back especially with a concussion. Pittsburgh is sitting pretty right now, they're still near the top of the standings and the defense has played great.

I think the Pens are heading where they want to go with their game, it's a matter of having everyone healthy and on the same page when the playoffs come. It sucks that they get Jordan Staal back only to have Crosby and Malkin out for an extended period of time.

Pens win a hard fought game 1-0. Game was as good as a low scoring game can get.
  • killer_ewok
Great job by the Pens. Hopefully they can keep this going.

    "Fleury, Fleury, Fleury......."
  • GoPens
Good time for the All Star Break. Time to heal and refresh.
  • rock_knutne
Bylsma said yesterday that Malkin should be skating when practice resumes and that Crosby is doing much better, could also return to the next practice.
  • End of Line
I would like to see them both return on Feb. 5th against the Craps.
  • GoPens
Sid has begun working out and rehabbing. I hope there's a bounty out on Steckel when the Pens play the Craps.

Radio said he started skating again too.

As for Steckel........it's been said in many interviews by Pens players that he will pay for that cheap shot he took on Sid.

Rangers play the pens tomorrow, I think the rangers will win this as Lundqvist is better than marc-andre fleury. Just not sure how with Crosby out, the Pens will be able to score on Lundquist.

LMFAO!!!!!!!! Imagine that, you predicting that a Pittsburgh team will lose, what a joke!

Just curious.....what is Pittsburgh's record since Sid has been out? Posting from my BB....can't look it up at the moment.

6-5 without him, 5-1 in the last 6 games played.

Henrik is a tough goalie. Top 3 in my book.

Letestu left practice being carried off. Jeffrey has been recalled.
