Reds pick up options on Arroyo and Gomes , decline on Cabrera and Harang
-
BlanketThey are expected to go after Cabrera.
-
wildcats20Obviously Bronson was going to be back. I am actually a little surprised they are bringing Gomes back.
-
Early CuylerGomes offensive numbers were as good or better than the majority of the left fielders out there. You have to take what you can get. Obviously the Reds weren't going to shell out the money to sign the likes of Carl Crawford.
-
Ironman92Doesn't matter who they have on offense if they keep the approaches of Dusty Baker.
Anyone know how the pesky Giants did in the playoffs? -
closer26I agree with bringing back Arroyo, and kind of agree with Gomes, although id still like to go after a bigger bat in LF. Even if we bring Cabrera back I think Janish starts to take over the SS position
-
mhs95_06How much money did it cost to let Cabrera go?
-
jordo212000I was a little surprised that they brought back Gomes as well
-
closer26jordo, I think they might not know whether they are going to pursue a FA to play LF, and i dont know about Heisey taking the starting role just yet, perhaps a little way into the season he does? But basically I think Gomes was an inexpensive precaution who is also a great clubhouse presence, so bring him back and give him a shot I guess.
The one think I cant stand though is when he's hot he hit pretty well, but man when he is cold he is ICE cold. Quite a few streaks of games where it was K's and popups -
se-alumI think this played out the way the majority of us expected. I hope that if they can't sign a FA left fielder they will try to package Alonso and another prosect to get one.
