Cavs vs Celtics

  • Commander of Awesome
I think the Cavs team is hard to predict as well. The consenus on the Cavs from the "experts" is all over the board. I have seen as low as 12 games to wins in the low 40s (I highly doubt it).

Hopefully there is no let down after last night.... Talent & experience wise this game is no contest, The C's/Cavs matchups the past few years have been fun to watch so I'll be interested as well to see how the new look LeBronless Cavs play. If Boston plays like they should this game should be a double digit win for the C's.

I certainly hope not, they had way too many turnovers and failed miserably to use their size advantage.

If Boston was in playoff form, they would have won by 25.

    Boston Celtics by 8+ points.

What size advantage? Shaq? He played sparingly, and when he was in they fed him.

Garnett and Big Baby didn't exactly have a big size advantage.

they won, and at the end of the day that's all that really matters. Boston rarely ever wins "pretty"

Boston is bigger and more physical upfront. We will see what Bosh is made of this eason when he needs to go down and bang with the big boys, there isnt a single "banger" on that Miami team. I think they will be ok but that front line needs to get bigger to win the title. Shaq, Big Baby, KG, O'neal and Perkins is better than anything Miami has.

The Lakers aren't a physical team either, but beat Boston. I'm really not understanding what you are trying to say. Haslem is a physical player, and yes he's the only one, but the NBA is a finesse game more often than not.

If you are saying that Miami's weakness is defending the paint, no one will disagree with you. They are obviously a guard oriented team with a finesse PF, but to think they can't be successful that way just isn't accurate.

The Lakers have the size to match up with Boston down low. I'd be curious to see how many points Boston scored in the paint last night compared to the Heat.

A lot more probably. The data is going to be really skewed though. Let's look again after 10 games or so. You can't watch one game and then from that decide that's exactly how they are going to play the rest of the season

    Lol are you serious?

You don't think the Celtics have a size advantage downlow over the Heat?

That may be the most ignorant non-trolling NBA comment I've read on here, until I read your comment that the NBA is a finesse game. O rly? When was the last time a team won the NBA Championship without a viable big man?

we don't have the horses to match the c's. we can only hope their old bones don't have it two nights in a row

Celtics in playoff form lol they had 16 points in the 1st quarter

Ummm, how about the Lakers last year? Pau Gasol is the definition of a finesse big man.

Explain to me where the size advantage is then. Garnett might be slightly taller than Bosh, but both are finesse players. Big Baby is like 6'6".

Pau is not finesse at all. If you watched the finals, he banged down low the entire series.

Big baby is 289 lbs. I guess that doesn't mean anything in terms of size though....

Get out of here. I used to think you might of possibly known what you're talking about, but you're proving yourself more wrong by the post.

NAME THE LAST NBA CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM WITHOUT A VIABLE BIG MAN.

+1.5....would have been +2 but it was the idiot post of the last month or so, not just this week.

    Yeah and he's 289.

Thanks for elaborating. So, Gasol isn't a finesse big man, or the Lakers didn't win the championship? Which comment was so idiotic?

Maybe the fact that Gasol is a pretty physical player now, or the fact that KG has always been a physical player. Nice FAIL.

But they held Miami's "unstoppable offense" to just 9 points in the 1st Quarter and to 80 points total. The Celtics for the past few years have been a defensive team first and that leads them to Rondo's fast breaks and their offense. But we were WAY to sloppy with I think 16 Turnovers, missed a lot of FT's and missed a lot of easy shots within 5 feet of the basket. They are far from midseason-playoff form. But that defense looked pretty good last night.

When did Gasol get physical? Did you watch him against Amare last year? KG has always been a finesse player, don't let his personality confuse you. He's a fade-a-way scorer on the block.
