James Harrison considering retirement

  • Automatik

So 4 articles with claims? I have never heard his name mentioned when talking about "cheap shot artists."

Has he been fined before? I honestly don't know. Fire up the Google search again for me Mr. Wiz.

And get that delusional BS out of here.....you support Cleveland...enough said.

Lol at you calling me delusional when you didn't even know Harrison was a POS thug. Way to not follow your team for player info and having to ask a Browns fan for info.

I dont understand how me being a browns fan makes me delusional. I didn't say one of my thug players wasn't a cheap shot artist, nice failsponse.

Well obviously there is talk around the league about him being a cheap shot artist if players are speaking about it. I guess it is only credible if you "heard" about it though. Don't get mad because your trollish idiotic posts were blown back in your face with facts. Yes he did get fined before to answer your question.

Also, I don't know what you are implying about me being delusional as a Cleveland fan. If you think being supportive for each franchise through years of losing is being delusional than you are an idiot. I know Cleveland teams suck, so do all the fans. I don't see anyone who is claiming we are going to win the SB. Sorry I am loyal to my team. I don't root for the Steelers, yet I am somehow a Buckeyes fan.

Dont forget probably an idiot yankees fan as well. I think they might still have room left for one more dumbass on their bandwagon.

I never said anything about being credible. I just said I've never heard it....which is true. Then you pull up 4 articles from random sites....3 which I don't even give a fuck about and then "zomg you're owned!" Trust me....I'm not mad at all. James Harrison being a "cheap shot artist" is news to me. I am interested in learning what he got fined for previously.

As stated....if he was in a Cleveland uniform....this would be celebrated.

Are you really that stupid? I've stated before.....I support the PITTSBURGH PIRATES. I just happen to live in NYC.

No, he's not handling it as well as he could be. I haven't argued otherwise. My point has been that if you're going to label him a thug for helmet-to-helmet or illegal hit then apply that thug label across the board to players who do the same thing. I'm guessing everybody has at least one on their team. That's been my whole argument. I'm just asking for some consistency and not a double standard. But I guess that must make me a "delusional" Steeler fan. Truth is, I think I treat Cleveland fans pretty well for the most part. Just don't like the double standards by some. I've been careful and stated "some" each time because I think blanket statements are ridiculous.

As far as the new enforcement goes.....I think it fucking sucks. I'm sure as hell not the only one that thinks that.

And LOL about people still complaining about the hit on Cribbs. The NFL found nothing wrong with that hit. What's all the fussing for? Sometimes guys get knocked out in the pro's during big hits. Shit happens.

And again, while not all Cleveland fans are like this, don't think for a second that some aren't making a bigger deal out of the hit(s) and labeling him a thug just because he's a Steeler. Not all, but let's be honest and say some are.

Yeah....as always his words off the field are weird........I'm just all about him being one of the most dominant defensive players every year....and many years he is.

I hated Joey Porter's mouth and foolishness but good god he backed it up every time.

I'd prefer every Steeler be Troy Polamalu or Rod Woodson....but every team has players like this...we just have one of the better ones

I have read enough of this thread by those who are Steeler haters. Give me a break. There is not an NFL team out there that would not KILL to have him.

    1. I am a Brown's fan and think Harrison is a hell of a linebacker and any team would want him.
    2. The hit on Momass should have been a penalty and he should have been fined. It was $75k b/c he is a repeat offender and was fined already this year.
    3. The hit was worse than Ward's SHOULDER pad hit, but wasn't that cheap.
    4. This whole retirement deal is stupid and makes him look like a drama queen, and a bitch.
    5. Steeler fans sure are obnoxious.

All the crying he is doing about "I'm not sure if my game fits this League" and "skipping practice to mull retirement" is an absolute joke. If you're suppose to be one of the best players in the League, then you can adapt. MAN UP and quit crying. His crying is every bit as pansy-ish as those who whine about the League softening up. Shut up and play.
What have you read that makes you think that ?

If you are the best in that position and you perform at a level that you are above it all, than why not get pissed off. He is a dream in his position. He is what every coach would kill to have. I would be DAMNED PISSED if I was him. He makes the NFL an attractive sport. He defines passions and performance. Look at what he has given to this team. He is a game changer. To all of those who attack him, you must be under achievers. I hope he does not change a damn thing. He makes me want to watch the game.

I remember when he was being interviewed at the Super Bowl, all the reporters were scared. It was like they were talking to the Ape Man or something. lol

For the most part I think he's a textbook tackler, driving through guys the way you're supposed to do it.

I think it was just the timing of it, the NFL wanted to set an example based on last weekend's plays. And Harrison is overreacting to the NFL's overreacting.

Nice assumption. And if he was in a Cleveland uniform, Steelers fans would be bitching (see my assumption!). The reason I am stating Steelers fans as delusional is because you guys are making this out to be Cleveland fans showing their hatred toward a rival player. Yes we hate him but,

    1. If you open your eyes plenty of fans have said they don't mind the hit, but they think he should have been flagged.
    2. Regardless of whether one fan thinks it was a dirty hit or not, we mostly all think he is acting like a prima donna cry baby. If he played for the Browns I would think the same thing. I called Braylon a crybaby when he played for the Browns.
    3. As shown in the links, there are plenty of people who are not Browns fans, who believe he is a dirty player and his hits were dirty.

So, GTFO out with this "clowns fans are whining" bs.

Also, of course you don't give a fuck about the sites, because it doesn't support your argument. I just picked the few sites that I came across when I did a search. Go ahead and search yourself, there are plenty of articles discussing James' dirty play.

Absolutely true!! Anytime I ask someone why they like NFL football, 99.9% of the time they say...James Harrison, he's why I watch NFL football!!! Lol!

Harrison should've been flagged for the Massaquoi hit but not the Cribbs hit and the NFL confirmed this.

By far the most illegal, dangerous, unnecessary hit on Sunday was Brandon Meriweather's (and since we're bringing up neutral parties.....EVERY NFL analyst/sports talk personality I've heard/watched has said the same thing) yet much of the outrage and venom on here when it comes to Sunday's hits is towards Harrison. If it's truly about how illegal and dangerous the hits are.....why is Harrison getting hammered on here worse than Meriweather?

    On here???

Because we have more Steelers and Browns fans than any other team.

And that's my point. The shit is blown out of proportion on here for that reason.

I've never whined about an NFL player being dirty in my life. Rodney Harrison was the closest....but he was a hell of a player who would take your head off....I couldn't stand him.

    Agree with this.

Like Wildcats said, this is an Ohio board. Steelers/Browns will usually get more attention. I do agree though that the Meriweather hit was by far the worst one sunday. IMO he should have been fined way more than Harrison, regardless if he was a repeat offender or not. Of the 4 main hits discussed, I think that was the worst, followed by the Massequoi hit. The Cribbs and Jackson hits were both legal IMO. Brutal, but legal. I actually didn't even realize he hit him helmet to helmet until they showed the replay of the Cribbs one.

killer_ewok wrote:.....why is Harrison getting hammered on here worse than Meriweather?
Did you really ask that question on an Ohio-based website full of Browns fans??
killer_ewok;526825 wrote:And that's my point. The shit is blown out of proportion on here for that reason.
Perhaps you should join a Maryland based sports site to see Merriweather hammered by Patriot fans?!? Also, Merriweather apologized, Harrison cried like a 5yr. old.
  • killer_ewok
Yeah, I know it's an Ohio board. I didn't say I was surprised by the reaction. Just pointing out the COMPLETE lack of objectivity by some. However, some....even with their emotional ties to their team.....remained somewhat objective. Kudos to them. People throw around the "thug" label too much and it's just silly IMO.

You guys can bust my balls for being Captain Obvious.....but for a while....some didn't want to admit that something like that had anything to do with some of the harsh opinions on here regarding Harrison. Sure, some neutral folks share those same opinions, but a lot do not.

So, I was pointing out the obvious.....just took a while for some to admit that's what the deal is on here for some.
