Phillies @ Reds--Game 3

why would you try to catch it if you're a fan?

I know they didn't reach over but still it's a playoff game, you're in the first row, let your team try to make the play

2010 Regular Season Janish vs. Cabrera

    ............................Janish......Cabrera
    avg.......................0.260........0.263
    OBP......................0.338........0.303
    SLG......................0.354........0.385
    RBI per plate app...0.110........0.078

Janish is 0.429 avg with 0.571 SLG off Hamels while Cabrera has not faced him. And Janish is a superior defender. Especially with the Cabrera injury, why is Janish not in there?

The ball's coming right at the fan, there was no way he was making that catch. It's either catch it or get hit with it.

That's what happens in band boxes like Citizen's Bank and GABP.

Yes, why is Dusty even out there wasting time on this?

No just get out of the way.

It would've been a tough catch but let him go after it.

You should know if you're in those seats that might happen.

You might be worse than tiger

Reds need to get something going here, or it's sweepage

Yeah, but it wasn't like the Cubs deal, the ball had already crossed the fence.

Because Dusty Baker was apparently screwed over for playing time late in his career...or when he came up in the late 60's he was taught the vets get all the pt....just deal with it.

The thing that bothers me the most.......Dusty was asked why, if healthy enough to play, Cabrera is hitting 8th.....well if he couldn't make it through the game I didn't want my replacement at the top of the order......

WHAT??? Did he say that out loud. His thought process is so damn backwards I can't even deal with it.

Then he says Cabrera was fine hitting and throwing in the pregame.

If he was fine in pregame...why would you bat him where he never bats for fear he couldn't make it through the game.

not too mention Janish and Cabrera are offensively darn near equal.

It was still on the way down and he never really had a legit chance to make the catch because the fans hit it.

I know if the ball is over the fence the fans have the right to it but I think your team trying to win in the playoffs is bigger than the right to catch the baseball

There's enough time when it's in the air to make that decision

"I'm batting Cabrera 8th in case he can't make it through the game"

WTF you going to do if the ball needs thrown from SS to 1B?

3 time manager of the year.....3 time manager of the year....3 time manager of the year

From the initial beginning of this series Dusty just can't hack making the most logical decision.

Yeah....the defense sucks and the offense sucks (much to Dustyball approach)...but this guy just rarely gives the Reds the highest chance of winning.

The first true lefty that Dusty let Cueto face the 3rd time thru the order cost a big insurance run. The one walk is what cost him most. It allowed the order to turnover, and if he had gotten Rollins out, he'd have been thru the 5th without having to face Utley, and then a new pitcher should have been in for the 6th.
  • mhs95_06
Do you think Dusty lets Cabrera play tonight if he hadn't got his new managing contract?
  • Ironman92
    absolutely

he'll trust any vet regardless and not trust the rookies or Janish regardless
  • Tiger2003
Thanks Rolen for letting the Phillies turn the lineup over again.
  • osu45804
Bright side so far.... Attendance is 44,599, largest in GABP history
  • Ironman92
Thanks Giants for keeping the Phillies out of the WS.

    Haha...We will see about that.

Those errors are making the Reds pitchers have to face the top of the order more prematurely than they otherwise would. That means without the errors it would probably still be 0-0!
