Brewers at Reds, game 1
-
mhs95_06Okay now let's get the 4th run of the night with the RBI on something other than a hit so all 4 runs will be of that vein.
-
osu45804Wow 4 K's for Bruce
-
Ironman92has Bruce seen a fastball?
7 K by Reds starting OF
Did Rolen leave the game for rest I hope? -
mhs95_06I think if the Reds are going to win it, it will be after Loe is out of the game!
-
Ironman92Brewers might bring in that guy that throws 54 mph
-
mhs95_06They said on TV that Rolen seemed like he may have hurt himself saving Votto an error on a wild high throw to 3B to save a run on the play with one out in the 4th when Scott made a great play on a smash by Braun with Weeks on 2nd when Weeks went to 3rd on the throw to first.
-
mhs95_06Stubbs was wrong in thinking that called 3rd strike was a ball. It was right on the outside edge after the first 5 pitches of the 3-2 count were all on the inner half. Like Welsh always says about the hitter being velocitized, in this case Stubbs was insiditized!
-
mhs95_06Bad call by the ump on the 0-1 pitch from Bray to Fielder with 2 on and no out. Instead of 0-2 it was 1-1 and Fielder goes on to hit a deep fly to advance Hart to 3rd with one out rather than Bray having the big advantage and maybe getting a K or a double play.
-
mhs95_06Brandon Phillips was screened by the ump on a potential inning ending 4-6-3 DP ball and he missed it allowing Hart, the go ahead run, to score and there still is just one out and two on. Bad breaks for Bray and Smith.
The wrong ball call on Fielder was on a pitch that basically was in the same place in relation to the plate as the one the ump rightfully called as strike 3 to Stubbs. The Stubbs one was on the outside corner, and the Fielder one was on the inside corner. -

And now we can add, after they have fallen behind! -
mhs95_06After the 2 out double by Francisco, the Brewers decline the opportunity to strike out Bruce for the 5th time tonight, and choose to walk him to put the winning run on 3rd, and pitch to Gomes who has struck out 3 times!
-
mhs95_06And Axford takes care of Gomes easily, striking him out on 3 pitches, to save the game for the Brewers.
-
mhs95_06And now the Reds are guaranteed to not have the home-field advantage in the NLDS. And they can only have the home-field for the NLCS if they play the wild card, unless they have changed the rules to which the wild card can have the home-field advantage in the NLCS if they have the better record.
-
Ironman9210 K by starting Reds OF?
Goodness that's silly. -
osu45804They can also have Home field advantage in the World Series too thanks to the NL winning the All-Start game
-
mhs95_06Fitting that the winning run scores on an RBI on a non-hit, just like all 3 of the Reds runs!
Reds strike out 17 times in 11 innings with 11 of the strike outs by outfielders. Bruce struck out all 4 times they pitched to him, Gomes 4/5, Stubbs 2/5, Nix 1/1, and Heisey 0/1. For an outfielder total of 11 Ks in 16 plate appearances where they actually pitched to the outfielder-batter. -
Ironman92that's just a ridiculous stat of a group not adjusting
