Dear Cleveland Browns,
I completely realize that we are in a "rebuilding" year....again....I figure after we get done "rebuilding" we should have a nice castle, or Taj Mahal. Not the shack that we have been living in since 1999. Anyhow, since this week, MAY be the only week we have to win a game, I have a suggestion to make sure that we can either: A) Actually keep a lead in the 4th quarter, or B) Get blown out of the water so much by halftime I can watch the NFL Redzone on Direct TV and not be dissapointed AGAIN. Pretty much if we are up by 2 scored on the Bengals this week going into the 4th quarter and we blow it again, Im going to start requesting to work all day on Sundays so all I have to watch is the ESPN bottom line and know we got beat by 7 points or less again.
Anyhow, my master plan is this....wait for it.......wait for it.....THE WISHBONE OFFENSE! Yea, I know, call me crazy (You're CRAZY!) but it couldnt look any worse than the offensive display (Minus Hillis last week) that has been thrown on the field in front of me every week this season. First to make this official, we will rename the Wishbone Offense to the DawgBone Offense, so ESPN has a cool name to call it. I mean honestly, if we arent going to throw the ball downfield but once a game (not counting the downfield passes the OTHER team has caught and brought back) and the other team knows it, you MIGHT AS WELL try it.
The lineup would look like this. Wallace at QB, two tight ends (Or 1 TE and a split WR) Watson and Vickers or *insert mid talent NFL WR here*. The up back would be Hillis, that kid runs downhill anyhow. I think he is a natural fullback anyhow, but with wheels and an attitude. Your split backs are Harrison and Cribbs. You have the opportunity to run a triple option, or not, who knows, I think McCoy ran some at Texas at some point, so throw him in there once in a while to let him know what it feels like to have an NFL linebacker plow him. (The way things are going it may be his future anyhow, you might wanna Call Brady Quinn Colt, he will be able to tell you ALL about it)
Anyhow, I feel this puts every offensive threat out on the field that we HAVE at one time. Since the trend in the NFL is to pull out these goofy Wildcat and Chaos offensive and defensive packages, why the HECK not try something new. We are in for a coaching change, probably by the BYE week, if not before, you have to try SOMETHING! If we are going to go three and out, we might as well go 3 and out doing something interesting! Maker people at least talk about the stupid decisions we make, and we can actually reply as fans with "At least we are trying". Because for the 1st 3 weeks, I cant in good faith say that
Thank you for this time. Please take this with a grain of salt, I just want to see some sort of effort.
Sincerely, The Cleveland Browns Fanbase who has been in misery for over a decade
