NFL Power Rankings - after two weeks

    1. New Orleans 2-0
...Defending champs don't get the top spot automatically but they've had two quality wins in primetime to open the season. It's been awhile since they've tasted defeat.
    2. Houston 2-0
...Potent squad. Impressive wins so far.
    3. Green Bay 2-0
...This is a good team with Rodgers on offense and a defense that can rush the quarterback, but the schedule has been a little soft so far with the Kevin Kolb-led Eagles in Week 1 and the Bills in Week 2.

    4. Indianapolis 1-1
...The Texans had the Colts targeted for several months and took it to em, but a nice bounce back win for the Colts on Sunday night. They're fine.
    5. Pittsburgh 2-0
...Too high? Maybe but with the defense healthy and playing up to standard they'll be in pretty much every ballgame.

    6. N.Y. Jets 1-1
    7. Baltimore 1-1
    8. New England 1-1
    9. Cincinnati 1-1
...This is a tough group to rank because the Ravens beat the Jets, the Patriots beat the Bengals, the Jets beat the Patriots and the Bengals beat the Ravens. Since they're all 1-1, I went with the margin of defeat. Jets lost by one point. Patriots and Bengals lost by 14 but the Patriots won head-to-head over the Bengals.
    10. Chicago 2-0
...I like this team. Cutler is on a comeback in Mike Martz's offense and he has some weapons at WR, along with Forte and Olsen. Defense is still capable.

    11. Washington 1-1
    12. Atlanta 1-1
    13. Miami 2-0
    14. Kansas City 2-0
    15. San Diego 1-1

    16. Philadelphia 1-1
    17. Tennessee 1-1
    18. Minnesota 0-2
    19. Dallas 0-2
    20. N.Y. Giants 1-1
    21. Arizona 1-1

    22. Detroit 0-2
...They're right there. Jim Schwartz has them on the right track.
    23. Tampa Bay 2-0
...Ehh this is probably too high but I'll give them credit for the two wins.
    24. Jacksonville 1-1
    25. Denver 1-1
    26. Seattle 1-1
    27. San Francisco 0-2
...Another tricky group. San Francisco gave New Orleans all they could handle but fell big at Seattle. Seattle lost to Denver, which lost to Jacksonville. I hate putting San Francisco this low but that was a bad loss to open the season.

    28. Oakland 1-1
    29. Cleveland 0-2
    30. Buffalo 0-2
    31. Carolina 0-2
    32. St. Louis 0-2

As much as this pains me to say this, I might put Pittsburgh at #2 (how appropriate) behind New Orleans. Their defense is playing lights out.

What's hurting Pittsburgh right now is the lack of offense. That'll change in a few weeks.

Seriously having the Colts ahead of the Texans? I like Durkie's top 5 but I'd move the Colts to 5 and the other 2 up a spot.

Not sold on the Texans.....Washington sucked it up while up 17....but I'm not sure the #2 team in football ever gets down 27-10 to the Redskins...very fortunate

Yeah I do...while they beat the colts, I wasn't fully sold on them being better than the colts even if they beat them...Plus after the Colts dismantling of the Giants and the Texans barely beating the Redskins, I think that is the correct top 5

I don't think you can always go by head-to-head.

It's a long season and even good teams have off weeks, especially playing on the road.

Plus by the time you get into the middle of the season, a lot of teams beat each other so it's tangled up if you try to use head-to-head as the barometer in every situation.

Texans proved early on they are worthy of quite the drop...bandwagon partially unloaded

Does Pittsburgh move to #1 if GreenBay loses tonight? Cleveland should move back to 30th right ahead of SanFran and Carolina.

    No, not quite yet.

The No. 1 spot is up for grabs a little bit.

Green Bay probably will be if they win.

After that it's going to be interesting.
