osu45804We can hope ... I mean Bratkowski don't know how to go deep yet this year..... Vs. New England and a starting secondary w/ 5 total starts never went down field until we were already down 24 points .... Vs. Baltimore w/ Ed Reed out and a shaky Ravens secondary NOTHING down field ... Today Carson was way off even on the short passes, but some of that has to do w/ the downpour in the 1st half and Cedric Benson was doing a good job running and we had the lead so of course Bratkowski didn't wanna take any chances....
Palmer and the Receivers have to start getting better timing and Brat needs to open up the playbook, it's not pre-season anymore. -
daveMaybe we were watching different games but I thought the play calling was really good today, other than throwing on 3rd and short so much. Brat got Gresham, Shipley, Caldwell, Leonard into the game. Tight end screens, pitches to the outside and some other wrinkles. Not sure what else they can do.
Carson can't throw the deep ball, it gets picked off too much. You saw that on the pick down the middle. His arm strength sucks. Too many dropped passes and poor throws. Can't blame the coaches for that.
One thing Marvin did that I don' think another coach in the US would do was kick the PAT up 19-7 midway through the 4th. WTF was he thinking? They got a 5 yard penalty then brought out the kicking unit.
Kevin Huber is the team MVP, on his way to the pro bowl.
