Reds pretty much in the middle, behind the top group of 76-77%. -
daveAfter gaining another game tonight for the first time I feel 100% confident the Reds will make the playoffs. Now I'm hoping that the Phillies somehow miss the playoffs and/or the Reds get the Padres in round 1. Unfortunately I don't see either happening.

I see the Reds getting Atlanta in the NLDS. I'm okay with that. -
daveHow do you think that will happen? Reds with 2nd best record behind Philly, ATL in wild card? I'm thinking they will have 2nd best record but wildcard will be out of the west. Giants and Rockies both make it, ATL and SD out. Reds get division winner of west.

That's with the Braves getting the WC. Phillies can't play Atlanta in the NLDS so they'd play Cincinnati regardless of seed. -

Right now the Braves are the Wild Card leaders. -

No, if the Reds are 3 seed, they play Phillies, winner of west would play Braves.
yeah I know, but they play Phillies 6 more times.wildcats20;483329 wrote:Right now the Braves are the Wild Card leaders. -

Derp. My brain is scrambled from the Jets game. Don't mind me. -
wildcats20The Reds will not be the 3 seed. They are 1 game ahead of the Giants and Padres and have arguably the easiest schedule the rest of the way.

daveIt will be much easier to try to figure out in about a week hopefully.

Who knows, they have Brewers and Astros 6 games each. Both have been playing .500 for several months. They also go to San Diego. After this DBacks series I don't think it's easy. All it takes is 1 of the 3 teams in the west to play real well, although the Rockies probably can't keep it going. -
Azubuike24If I had to guess, the Reds will win overall home field advantage in the playoffs. They have absolutely owned the bad teams and they play almost all bad teams from here on out. The only tough series left is at San Diego, and although the Padres are good record-wise, they aren't nearly as tough as their record and have faded fast. I honestly see the Reds going 12-6 or 13-5 the rest of the way which would be good for first place in the NL IMO. Assuming the Phillies and Braves split at 3, either of them would have to 10-3 in remaining games to top the Reds.
With that said, I don't see the wild card coming out of anywhere except the NL East. The Giants play the Rockies 3 more times, the Padres 3 more times while the Rockies play the Padres 2 more and the Giants 3 more. Between those 8 games, I just can't see any of the three teams winning enough to take the wild card. If one of them gets really hot, they will simply run away with the West by more games.
So given this, it's almost assuredly to be the Reds vs wild card winner in round 1, meaning Atlanta or Philadelphia. One just has to hope they can get the #1 overall seed and have home field throughout. -
baseballstud24The swing of Jay Bruce has improved tremendously throughout the season. He looks so relaxed in the box. I'm very excited to see if he can keep stroking the ball (I don't expect him to hit a HR every at bat, but a .300 + clip would be nice)
