Which trendy NFL pick is more likely to fall flat on its face?

  • gorocks99
Was looking at E!SPN's Super Bowl predictions, and to my surprise, 8 panelists picked Baltimore to win the SB, while 5 picked Green Bay: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5528592 . The only other team with multiple votes is Indy.

So, that said, which of these two teams is more likely to fail this year? The Ravens, who went 9-7 last year before losing in the divisional round, or the Packers, 11-5 before the weird shootout in the desert?

tough call between those two. If Green Bay can keep Rodgers from taking the beating he took last year, they will be in the mix. If Flacco can distribute the ball and not turn it over, the Ravens will win a lot of games. Another team that could be mentioned is San Fransisco. They have been getting a lot of love from the experts, but Alex Smith hasn't really shown he can get it done on a consistent basis.

Greenberg on Mike & Mike has San Francisco in the Super Bowl against, I believe, Baltimore.

Baltimore's D will fall on its face this year. Green Bay will score on pretty much anyone at will. Their D will be OK. Ravens offense will be better than average. I don't think either fall on their face, but baltimore will definately not live up to the hype.

Steelers will fall flat this year. Their Division is just to tough and Roth will miss the first four games. I will go as far as saying that the Raiders will win more then the Steelers.

I don't think either team is going to fall on it's face.

Greenberg also has the Raiders winning the AFC West in a tie breaker with the Chargers. Along with Baltimore winning a tie breaker over Cincy (Wild Card for the Bengals) in the AFC North.

Raiders are interesting because they do have a good defense. I don't think they will overtake the Chargers, but they could surprise some people.

Out of these options, I will say the Packers.

Honestly, he might not be too off with that Raiders pick.

Raiders were a good team last year who only lost because Russel was terriable and their draft was actaully pretty good this year. The Raiders are in a bad division giving them between 3-5 wins and get to play the NFC west this year which should give them 3 wins thats 6-4 atleast so if they can win a few other games they could sneak in.

The Ravens. Their defense is aging and their division is much tougher.

Picking from these two I went with the Ravens. I think that Green Bay will have a tough defense again as they did last year. However this year the O-Line looks like it actually wants to block so that will only make Aaron Rodgers and the offense that much better. I wouldn't be surprised to see them when the NFC.

The Ravens will be tough but the defense isn't getting any younger and I'm not sold on Flacco yet. However he will have a lot more weapons then ever but I think Green Bay is more of a sure thing.
