Bruce Feldman just tweeted that the Judge will allow Clarett to travel to Omaha for the tryout. Good for him.

IF his head is indeed on straight he could eventually make it back. He's still relatively young and doesn't have much wear and tear on his legs. It's not like that kind of talent is found everyday on the street.

26 is not young for an NFL running back.

It is when he hasn't been taking the pounding that other RB's have taken over the last 5 or so years.

ROTFLMAO! It was a predictable response I guess, but it still cracked me up.

I wanted to include that in my post but figured I'd set it up on a tee for someone else. Good work!

It should be his peak years...but 30 is the end for most backs.

It is practically unheard of for a running back to suddenly make it at the age of 26 (he will turn 27 in two months). He was cut as a third round draft choice. If he showed any signs of being able to play at the NFL level, a team would not have cut a third round pick. I find it hard to believe he would be any better five years later. With the exception of the month he lasted with the Broncos, Mo hasn't played football in eight years.

I wish Mo the best of luck in turning his life around. I just don't see the NFL as a realistic goal for him. I had the opportunity to see him play several times when he was in high school, and he might be the best high school back that I have ever seen in person. Good luck to him.

Since Maurice graduated high school he has played in what, 9 games? Too much time has passed for him to be effective at that level. There is a lot more involved in playing at a high level that natural ability and talent. There are many nuiances to the game that can't prepare you unless you are consistently playing it.

Clarett signed with Omaha and will practice today. He will speak to the media on Wednesday.
