I was just sitting down to watch the first pitch at 9:40 and my power went out until 4am, so I didn't get to see a thing, but listened on the radio. Marty said the Diamonbacks played dysfunctional baeball, lollygagging on getting to balls and on throws. And to crown it, they let the Reds break it open with 3 runs in the 9th on a an error, two HBP, walk, wild pitch, and just one hit.
Myn question for those that saw the game is this: I was surprised Dusty pinch hit Edmond for Stubbsin the 8th, with 2 outs and the bases loaded, when the Reds already had the lead. He sacrificed his best defensive CF who had about 24% chance of getting a run in for about double that chance with Edmonds. I could just sense that Edmonds wouldn't get to a ball that Stubbs would have that would cost the Reds the ball game, if Edmonds didn't get any runs in. Edmonds made an out, and then the first batter in the bottom of the 8th hit a double to CF to put the tying run on 2nd and none out. Fortunately from there Arroyo and Rhodes got out of it with no runs scoring. Was that lead-off double a ball that Stubbs would have gotten for an out compared to Edmonds not getting to it?
