Ironman92^^^^^^^strawberry chill I had in the 5th inning was unbelievable
kid had the dippin dots and a slushie........and a large cherry coke
The rain and storm wind blowing through the stadium was possibly the best feeling ever. -
mhs95_06In the 3rd inning, when Jay went to 2nd on the balk with one out, Pujols was at the plate with a 1-2 count. In that case, Arroyo went ahead and pitched to him, because there was only one out, and because he already had two strikes on Pujols. He ended up getting him on a ground out, and then with a 2-2 count on Holliday Arroyo got by fooling around down low, he got an inning ending K by going "up the ladder". Arroyo was worse off in the 3rd with one out than he was in the fateful 5th with two out and none on.
In the 5th he got the first two outs, then the double by Jay with two strikes. I didn't like giving Pujols the outright intentional walk. I thought he should pitch around him, but yet give him some tantalizing looks and maybe Pujols would get himself out. If the ump would have called it like it should have been to Holliday and it would have been 2-2 like it should have been, I'm sure Arroyo had a definite plan how he was going to get Holliday out. But he never got the chance. Bring on electronically called balls and strikes to bring fairness into the game! -
Ironman92I warned against it when it happened.

TiernanBottom line it was a SWEEP and a very decisive sweep at that. Series definitely showed who the best team in Diviision is. Don't get me wrong I'd much rather see Reds win, but I'm also a realist and right now they ain't ready to challenge the Cards for title run.

Bottom line is the Reds don't need to win the season series against the Cards in order to win the division. Beat the crap out of the terrible teams and play ~.500 baseball against the good teams (all of them, not just the Cardinals) and you'll be fine. Every team has that one team that just has their number, even the best teams in baseball, and the Cardinals just so happen to have the Reds number.
What happens if the Reds go into St. Louis and sweep the Cards? I know, I know. That isn't going to happen. Blah blah blah.
Anyone want to give me the lottery numbers since so many of you can see into the future? -
