NFL Pre-Season Hall of Fame Game: Bengals vs. Cowboys

  • dave
what a fucking nightmare, good thing this isn't the actual first preseason game or I'd be worried
  • Pick6
how many penalties is that on the bengals now..12, 13?

I'm glad Coffman got that grab earlier, I wonder if they use him and Gresham at the same time much.

    J. Palmer may be cut soon.

I kinda like how Carson was going to T.O. a lot early.... good to try and get their timing down. Palmer knows 85 and his tendencies by now.

Hopefully Palmer,Stinco, and T.O. took a tour of the H.O.F.

That will be the closest that they will ever come to it again. hahaha

    How is Chad not?

Sorry. No way Chad's a HOFer.

Not yet ya mean. He still has a few good years left in him. He needs a few more td's and a ring :)
  • Art Modell
You have to win a playoff game before you can get a ring.
  • gerb131
    Hopefully that happens this year.
Say they do win the SB is Chad a hof'er?
  • grodt
Sorry still no, Chad would need about 3 more seasons of high productivity before he would be considered.

Realistically Chad has a good shot at being top 10-15 in receiving yards, top 25 in touchdowns, and top 25 in receptions. He led the AFC in receiving yards for 4 straight years, has 6 pro bowls, 2 first team All-Pro and 1 second team All-Pro selections. Will that be enough for the HoF? Well Cris Carter isn't even in yet, so hard to say.

As for TO, the guy should be a first ballot guy I'd say. He will probably end up #2 in yards and #3 in TDs. If him and Cris Carter aren't in the Hall it's a joke, regardless of TOs antics.

Carson has maybe a 5% chance and that's being generous. It would take about 3 straight ridiculous years to bring him into the discussion, but there's just no way he ever sees the Hall unless he buys a ticket.

That and at least three rings.
  • Terry_Tate
By the way, here is a very interesting comparison that I just noticed the other day.

    684 receptions, 9,952 yards(14.55 YPC), 62 TDs, 6 Pro Bowls, 3 All-Pros
    676 receptions, 9,393 yards(13.89 YPC), 63 TDs, 4 Pro Bowls, 2 All-Pros

The top one is Ocho. Anyone care to guess who #2 is without looking it up? He came into the league the same year as Chad.
  • grodt
I looked it up and that's very surprising. The only reason I can think is that #2 wasn't "the man" until just recently.

Reggie Wayne. Also Wayne has been a #2 WR for most of his carrer behind Marvin Harrison. Also had other guys like Dallas Clark taking away catches from him. Reggie Wayne > Chad Johnson any day of the week.

Sorry win a playoff game first.

    Sounds familiar....

You can look at this 2 ways.

    1. Reggie Wayne hasn't been the man very many years so in essence that makes him better than Chad even with marginally worse stats.

    2. Chad Ochocinco has not had the best regular season QB of all time throwing to him(Kitna a few years, Palmer who is no Manning) and so if he had a QB like Peyton Manning and the coaches and all around team Manning has had then his stats would be insanely good.

Either way, for as great as people think Reggie Wayne is I just thought it was interesting how similar of stats they have.
  • Pick6
Um..Chad had to share targets with TJ for how many years? Not to mention Carson is always injured
  • Terry_Tate
Another point to mention is Reggie Wayne hasn't seen 1/4 the double teams that Chad has seen over the years because of Dallas Clark and Marvin Harrison. Opposing defenses couldn't focus on one guy with Peyton and all those threats.
