2nd time the wind has caused them to misplay a ball in the air. -
osu45804And this one belongs to the REDS .... A 5-1 Road trip and a sweep of the cubbies
64 - 48 and currently 2 games ahead of the Cards -

Cubs will need 12 to win thsi game
Right on target! I guess with the Cubs bullpen vs. the Reds bullpen with the Reds having a 4 run advantage to start, there isn't much chance of having a save opportunity for the Reds "closer"! -
redstreak oneNice win and a sweep, the first in while! lol Bring on the redbirds!

osu45804Cards game is postponed .... So we'll have a 2 game lead starting tomorrow

Your "almost" was right! When I first saw him hit it I wasn't watching that close how far it went, but I was mis-lead by the Cubs announcers on WGN as they mentioned he hit it out in the street. I just now saw the replay and it looked like two rows shy of going over the bleachers. -
jordo212000Man the Cubs looked brutal today. What's the odds they are out there tomorrow taking some extra defense. Nady looked like he had never caught a pop up before at the end of the game. Cairo must be boys with the official scorer, that was an error

But only one game in the loss column since the Reds have now played two more games. So if the Reds lose 2 out of 3, they'll still be in first place, but only even in the loss column.
The Cards game in Fla. being postponed was probably an advantage to them rather than having a long draining day prior to the series with the Reds, even though they'll probably have to make a trip back to Fla. just to make it up. The Cards now get to skip their pathetic 5th starter, and may get to have a much better Lohse back instead. -

Was it lost in the sun or wind aided?? Usually the official scorer will score those types of things as hits. Happened in Braves game today, Gonzalez lost a pop up in the infield grass in the sun and it was initially scored an error. The announcers immediately said that was an unusually harsh ruling. Two innings later it was changed to a hit. -

I just meant failing as in not getting a hit. In baseball, getting out is considered failing, UNLESS it's a productive out...which was the case here.
