Tiger's Golf Game is a complete Disaster right now
-
IggyPride00I just saw he is +5 and in 74th place (out of 81 golfers) through 15 right now.
His previous high score ever on this course was 71, and he has won like 7 of the last 10 times he's been there and never finished outside of the top 5.
He may come back and play heroically over the weekend, but if he can't make it work on Firestone of all places, where he has been a mortal lock, then he has some major issues to address. -
wildcats20Firestone is one of the straightest, if not the straightest, course on tour. His driving of the ball sucks right now, I am not the least bit surprised he is struggling.

He hasn't driven the ball well in years, but has still never struggled at Firestone. No matter what shape his over-all game was in he always plays well there historically.
That's why I was looking forward to this week to see just where he was at. Even during the swing change years he played well here, and never had a showing like this. -
darbypitcher22he is spraying the golf ball and has no way of controlling it right now which is not allowing him to score
-
mattinctownHe needs a coach, the end.

Fixed. -
davehe shot a 74, far from a disaster even on a par 70. He's just limping through the rest of the season then will get his shit together for next year.
btw OP he shot a 72 there once. -
just_a_swimmerHe needs something cause he is not playing well at all.

ironman02Tiger's major advantage over the field during his career has been his mental ability. He has always been one of the most focused and driven athletes ever. Right now, he just doesn't have his mind right. I hope he gets it back soon. Would be nice to see him make a run at a major during the PGA, but in his current state, that's probably not too realistic.

IggyPride00Tiger is +2 on the day so far through 13 to fall back to +6 for the tournament and 76th place.
I was kind of expecting him to maybe shoot 67 or so today and get towards even, but that is not happening. -
karen lotzLuckily, or maybe not for him, there is no cut this week.
-
Ironman92I shot 75 today on a PAR 71 course and am pretty happy.
Poor Tiger! -
karen lotzFranklin Valley??

Ironman92Yep.

IggyPride00Tiger shot 75 today, to move to +11 for the championship. That puts him in 78th place (of 80 golfers left), 18 shots off the lead.
This is a disaster of epic proportions for him.
If he doesn't bounce back significantly next week, if I were Tiger I would tell Corey Pavin I'm not playing in the Ryder Cup with the shape his game is in. -
just_a_swimmerThe way Tiger is golfing is the worst case scenario for him. If he would have came back and had no ill effects with his golf game and golfed great it would have helped get him over the emotional hump. People would have moved on from his infidelities and cheered his golf. I'm afraid he may never be the same golfer again.

IggyPride00One of the articles I was reading made a good point in that Whistling Straits next week is an awful place for a guy struggling the way he is. That is another course that is going to demand good driving of the ball and accurate iron play and neither of those are in his game right now.
One of the writers was laying it out and if he plays poorly again next week he is in a position where if he doesn't do really well the first week of the Fed Ex cup race he will be unable to advance to the next week because of his point total. That has never before been a concern for him as he has won the $10 million dollar bonus twice in the past I think.
All that means is that Woods may have only 2 tournaments left before his season was over (not counting silly season), which would be unheard of for him.
Someone needs to get the man some whores ordered up to clear his mind because it seems that he is unable to play good golf without them. His vaunted mental game went to hell once they disappeared. -
ironman02I thought Tiger might struggle somewhat after his personal life crumbled into pieces, but I can't say that I expected this. He finished in the Top 5 at the Masters and US Open, and Top 30 at the Open Championship, all while having minor struggles in different facets of his game. I was thinking that he would be back to his normal self within the next few weeks, but it seems as though he has drastically regressed. This type of play from Tiger Woods is completely unheard of, and I'm not so sure that a recovery is in sight. It doesn't look like he's gonna be a factor at the PGA, and as IggyPride mentioned, his season may be cut very short if he doesn't get his act together. We might have to wait until next season to see if the real Tiger ever returns. As I've said before, I hope he pulls it back together and eventually breaks Jack's record, but what seemed like a sure thing in the past is very much in question now.

just_a_swimmerFor starters he needs to get his coach back.
-
IggyPride00One of the things I find most fascinating about Woods collapse is that just last year he was coming off a much longer layoff than this year because of ACL surgery and he found his game in relatively short order. He didn't win any majors, but he did win multiple times last year and really didn't miss a beat.
He was only out of action like 4 months this year, but has been a shell of himself.
The only difference I can see is that he was still getting mad pussy on the side last year and this year he can't go near those whores for fear of what would happen to him. Could it really have made that big a difference in his golf game that he can't play without it? -

What are the prices like at Franklin Valley?? -
ironman02It's hard to know what's going on behind the scenes. Maybe Tiger isn't playing well because he's not nailing a different chick every night, or maybe he's just genuinely distracted by the issues in his personal life...or maybe it's a combination of the two. I'd be willing to bet that going through a very public divorce, being hounded even more by the media, dealing with the divorce settlement (losing a ton of money), not seeing his kids that much, and other things are probably just as big a weight on his shoulders as not banging chicks on a daily basis.
just a swimmer makes a good point too though. He needs a swing coach, because his swing is obviously screwed. He needs Butch Harmon back. When he was with Butch, Tiger was nearly unbeatable. -
IggyPride00
Butch is with Phil now.He needs Butch Harmon back.
Besides, Tiger hates the amount of credit Butch got for his greatness early on. He could never handle the idea of Butch reviving his game and all the praise that would come with that. -
ironman02I know Butch is with Phil, but does that mean he wouldn't help Tiger out if he asked?
You're probably right about him refusing to seek assistance from Butch though. I doubt Tiger would ever put his ego aside. -
TigerNation10Tiger finished his final round by shooting a 77, putting him at +18.
