  I like it, too. They know that the Heat will be hated outside of south Florida because of the whole "friends making behind-the-scenes deal to create super-team" deal, so they're playing it up for the lulz. Provides amusement for me!

  He's definitely right when he says it, but the Heat better win a title this year because with the amount of pissing-off their doing acting like cocky assholes it will be a free-for-all to tear them down. Regardless it's going to be a wild ride this year.

  Even if he's right about the sell outs, it'll be offset by decreased attendance when the other teams come to town. In other words, the Cavs will no longer have Lebron, The Raptors will not have Bosh....so those teams aren't going to sell as well.
  Maybe D-Bag shouldn't be thanked....at all.

  Hits hit the nail on the head on what I was thinking. Sure the other teams are going to sellout when they come to town, just as MLB stadiums sellout when the Yankees come to town. Does that mean it's a good thing for those teams? No, it doesn't.

  I know what effect you were going for there, but for New York's four games in Cleveland last week none of them even remotely approached a sell out. Same thing can be said for Boston earlier this year. But yes, the gates do jump when those 2 MLB teams come to town

  I know they were not close to sell-outs, but they were certainly more than the 15,000 they've been drawing for most games. One of games even got more than the Strasburg game and only trailed Opening Day.

  It was a small boost, but it has usually been a lot more in the past. It didn't draw nearly as well this year, and though the numbers were higher, the first 3 of the series were ho-hum (Fireworks nights inflate the attendance up to 27,000 when they do them)
  
  Indians average is 17,499 (worst in baseball)

  It's true. Not very humble, but true. It's quite clear the attitude this team has going into the season. I just hope LBJ's sense of entitlement doesn't rub off on the whole team. They're a very confident bunch. I hope they know what they're getting themselves into.

  ^^^it's only half true. The Heat will draw, but the Raptors and Cavs will not bring in as much. people who want to see the three superstars will only have to buy one ticket to one game instead of tickets to three seperate games.

  Good point, it is possible that there'd be a slight boost overall, but not a given.
  
  Whatever the case, bringing it up and stating it the way he did is hilarious. I wonder if they are purposely adding pressure to themselves with all this talk or they think they are just having fun being bad guys.

  as a cavs fan (aka, a team that will have trouble filling it up every night other than lakers/celtics/magic/heat) i say, no thanks dwayne. we had a pretty good thing going before this all started.

  I think with what happened this year and what will happen next year with Carmello that is where the NBA is heading. It is quickly becoming a big turn off.
