No keep going. It is funny. -
mhs95_06If Phillips would have hit that grounder to SS that Gonzales bobbled for an error to allow the lead run in, I think he wouldn't have been going hard all the way like Cabrera was and would have been nipped at first to keep the run from scoring and end the inning.

osu45804Rolen with a leadoff double in the 6th
-
HereticI was going to make a sarcastic post about how my Pirates are helping the Reds today as they have a 1-0 lead in the third inning of their game with the Cards and how we should all know it's a lock because, you know, the Pirates, an early-game one-run lead...what can go wrong?
But while I was visualizing how I'd phrase it, the Cards scored to tie the game. It'll all be downhill from here. Sorry, Reds fans... -
mhs95_06Dusty makes a strange move after the pinch hitting appearance by Gomes! He leaves Gomes, who he usually subs out for defense with the lead late, even though the Reds now have the lead, and puts the pitcher in the 7th spot in the order which will be sooner than if he just left the pitcher to bat 9th. Now what is he going to do? Let Gomes bat once more and bring Stubbs into CF and put Nix in left, or put Stubbs in for Nix in CF and stick with Gomes, or stand pat with Stubbs on the bench?
-
mhs95_06Both Nix and Heisey do better as pinch hitters than starters. Maybe Bruce would too!
-
Ironman92Whatever is opposite.
Chris Welsh is moron for saying Heyward should not tried to catch that ball by diving.......no OF in their right mind is going to go all that way at top speed and not dive at a ball like that....he missed it by inches...nothing more....he doesn't dive at that ball and Bobby Cox is on him about effort.
The mistake was whoever positioned him????? -
osu45804Bray definitely NOT doing his job

He got out of it. I forgive him. -
mhs95_06Bray does a great job with Conrad, but he didn't handle Heyward like he did Friday night with the difference being his first two pitches today(sliders) were balls as opposed to Friday night when his first two pitches were strikes(one swinging and one called). But Friday he had less leeway coming into a tough situation with runners on that he deftly got out of. Now today Bray gets the next right handed hitter, then falls behind McCann, who he handled deftly Friday, 2-0 and loses him on a BB to put two on with two out. Chipper, who Bray pitched around Friday night, comes up to pinch hit and gets him to fly out to RF to end the inning. I'm glad that Chipper's skills are on the downward slide! Reds cling to a narrow 2-1 lead. Need six more outs without using Cordero!
-
mhs95_06Big out by Masset on the 3-1 pitch to Gonzales. We need four outs from Nick.
-
Ironman92Masset of late just seems unhittable...Coco for 3 straight days....we'll see how it works...I'll admit a bad feeling.

Cordero will come in a strike out the side on 9 pitches. He's good. -
mhs95_06Three outs on 11 pitches by Masset. Need to leave him in the game to at least pitch to one batter in the 9th as the pinch hitter won't be a left handed hitter. Unless the Reds bat six and take him out for a pinch hitter. Do not let Coco start the 9th, even if Dusty isn't going to pitch Rhodes today!
-
Ironman92shut the hell up Welsh....did Heyward sleep with your wife too???
-
Ironman92speaking of sleeping with Welsh's wife....the former Welsh drillee just hit a 2 run HR to go ahead of the Phillies
-
mhs95_06Best manager in baseball giving lots of respect to Votto!
-
Ironman92Votto looks good...lol
-
Ironman92That's the 3 worst swings in a row I have ever witnessed...seriously

He's earned the right to do that every once in a while. -
mhs95_06Cox succeeds in keeping it a one run game for his team's last opportunity. What will Dusty do? Conventional closer, or no?
-
justincredibleHere comes CoCo. Do not want.
-
Ironman92Votto is locked in on fastballs....the last 2 days not on much else
-
mhs95_06Its the conventional closer! Hope his tailing pitch is working good to the lefthanders!
