karen lotzHe is the truth.
-
darbypitcher22he's having a rediculous year and is still struggling to get respect for it
-
wildcats20If the Reds beat out the Cards for the Central, does Joey get the MVP?
I really don't see anyone else that can win it other than Albert -
Laley23It is Vottos MVP to lose.

If the Reds win the Central it will mean that Votto has kept his pace and he will definitely be the MVP. -
darbypitcher22^^^^
I would hope he would end up being the MVP, but you never know how those baseball writers are going to vote. We've seen how goofy they can be in the past -
Ironman92Right now (still 50+ games left of course and so much can change) Votto is easily the MVP of the NL.
Remember Ryan Howard won the MVP over Pujols and Pujols had better important numbers and his team was in the playoffs and Howard's were not.....the year before Andruw Jones had marginally better numbers on a playoff Braves team and Pujols nipped him for the MVP......so it seems to go both ways.
If Pujols is very close to Votto's numbers.....Pujols will win......right now he's not that close.
What may be more amazing is that Miguel Cabrera and Josh Hamilton have better numbers than Votto. -
darbypitcher22Cabrera and Hamilton are absolutely raping the ball. Its insane every time I turn on Texas or Detroit these guys are crushing the ball
-
Azubuike24Votto has separated himself from Albert in the last few weeks. The numbers were neck and neck almost the entire year, but Votto has Pujols whipped in almost every category. Things can change, but for right now, it's not really a debate between the two.
Adrian Gonzalez, given the park he plays in AND the fact that his supporting lineup is comparably bad to any other contender, should garner consideration if the Padres make the playoffs. -
CinciX12MVP is his. I dont see how unless someone else goes off or he starts slumping someone else gets it.
That being said, no respect will be given to the Reds. -

I think they are getting some respect from the national media. A few people had picked them to win the division before the season. I think most of the "lack of respect" stuff is due to the pattern of the past how many years of the Reds getting out of the gates well and then fading around late June leading up to the firesale. Its pretty clear this team is a little different and they will continue to get some more love. -
ernest_t_bassTo me, the big question is... How long will Votto be around if he DOES win MVP?
-
daveAt least 3 years until he becomes a free agent I think. He's going to make over 10mil in arbitration though each year.

Ive been watching the Tigers this year being back in Toledo. Cabrera might hit the ball harder than anyone else in the game. His HRs are rockets, not moon balls. His doubles either hit the wall on the line or are roped over the SS/2B head and because he hits it so hard make it to the wall. Its ridiculous. -
darbypitcher22he and Hamilton hit everything hard, Cano has been that way with a couple of moon shots mixed in as well.

Thats even what I am still thinking haha. This team slips 10 games out of the wildcard and I'll come running to say I told you so.
