Here come the Phillies...but Brad Lidge must go!!!

  • Tiger2003
The Phillies have cut the Braves NL East lead to 4.5 games. After firing hitting Coach Milt Thompson... The Phillies have won 5 straight ball games compiling 27 runs and 53 hits. They Phillies just swept the Rockies and now will stay at home for a 3 game stand with the Diamondbacks, then hit the road for a 3 game series with the Nationals....

Brad Lidge is killing me....struggling to finish out games....I really think the Phillies need to make a move in some kind of deal and get a new closer or maybe using JC Romero a little more as the closer.

^^^You can have Kerry Wood for a bucket of baseballs.

LOL I will pass on Wood....the past to games Lidge has almost gave Phillies fans a hear tattack.

Maybe Wood can pitch for the Clippers? Stick a fork in him because he's done.

Braves lose 3-0 and Phillies win 9-5. Phillies cut the lead down to 3 1/2 games. The flyin Hawiann left the game in the 7th with an oblique injury. Once again another Philly could see time on the DL....man if this team was healthy there is no telling you how good this team would be!!!

I just can't never could. Maybe just because when I was always growing up he destroyed my Phillies. I guess it just got it from my father.

Pretty good read from last week's SI. Probably not going to sway your opinion but it does talk about what makes him so successful and well liked by players he has managed as well as well respected by players he hasn't managed.

The Braves have owned my Mets for more than a decade, but I have always thought very highly of Bobby Cox. Classy manager who respects his players.
  • Tiger2003
Karen don't get me wrong, I respect him, I just can't stand him I guess its just because he is the manager for the Braves......
    on other note
In his 1st career at bat, Domonic Brown hit a double to deep right scoring Jayson Werth.

    2-3, 1 Double, 1 Single and a Sac Fly, 2 RBI, 2 Runs.....Not bad MLB debut.....

Lidge and the slider have become very hittable, at least in my opinion, since the end of '08 and the beginning of '09, combined with the fact that he doesn't throw much but that and the fastball it becomes fairly easy to guess. The slider just looks like it has no depth to me at all

Braves lose 5-3 against the Nationals....The Nats took 2 of 3 from the Braves who now will travel to Cincinnati for a 3 game series.
The Phillies have a chance to cut into the Braves lead with a win tonight over the Diamondbacks to make it only a 2 1/2 game lead in the East.
