BAB's MLB Trivia time
-
BigAppleBuckeyeI was inspired by Ironman's trivia question last week, and I was checking out a certain player's stats today and thought it would make an interesting trivia question:
What player has double-digit Home Run AND Stolen Base totals this season, yet has played in a whopping 30 games in which he has gone hitless (with at least 1 AB in each game)? -
Laley23First name to mind is Drew Stubbs.
-
Laley23Stubbs works, so I am not checking anyone who qualifies on the HR and SB criteria.
Chris Young also fits the bill. -
Laley23Matt Kemp has 27 hitless games. Very close.
-
Laley23If I counted correctly, Pujols has 28 hitless games.
-
BigAppleBuckeyeStubbs wasn't who I was thinking of, but if he works, great guess! (Ironman is better at research than I am haha).
Still looking for the guy I had in mind ... -
Laley23Mr. Justin Upton, victim number 3. I got one more in me before I quit counting lol.
-
Laley23Im guessing Ryan Braun. I didnt do any AL guess since you said the 1 AB thing....figured it had to be NL. But the AL might have one as well, since the NL now has 4!
-
BigAppleBuckeyehaha, my question sucked! I thought this guy was unique, I was wrong, my bad! Wasn't thinking of Upton either ...
-
BigAppleBuckeyeBecause of the flawed question, I will divulge the answer: Shane Victorino ...

It wouldve been unique if the criteria was 45. I think that was the number of hitless games I had for Stubbs!!! The other were all in the 30s and Braun at 30. -
BigAppleBuckeyeI have Victorino in fantasy, and it seems like he always goes 0-for-5, so I checked his stats out. Wow, that Stubbs stat is just comical, wow ...

I figured Stubbs since all the complaining from Reds fans. I have Upton so I thought for sure hed be in there. I was surprised it wasnt more actually. He was terrible, but Im finally reaping the rewards of not letting him go the last month or so.
I also knew Chris Young went hitless a ton from following the DBacks (For Upton and Kelly Johnson on my fantasy).
I never wouldve guessed Victorino though. -

This seems to be a typical week for Stubbs:
0-4
0-4
3-5, 2HR
2-5
0-4
1-4 -
Ironman92These aren't easy to do are they? lol
-
Ironman92My first guess (knowing he still had 9 SB) was Andruw Jones who has just a .203 avg...he's had 35 0-fer games
-
Ironman92and 100 games in I'd guess about all players 10-10 are close to 30 o-fer games unless they are batting .315 or so
The better question might be who is 10-10 and has the fewest o-fer games -
NateMy initial guess after reading the question was Drew Stubbs also. LoL
