Reds Vs. Brewers: Game 1

  • mhs95_06
Looks like Arroyo sacrificed a game losing home run for a complete game!

Hard to fault Bronson too much here. The reds need to batter a pitcher like Randy Wolf. But because he is left handed he is Cy Young.

    This one hurts.

It only took Dusty 8.1 innings to sit Stubbs down

Home plate umpire is pretty pathetic tonight too.... seems like he is "giving in" to the home crowd

There ya go Nixie!! Crushed that ball
  • mhs95_06
Great AB for Nix, who doubles with 1 out!
  • wildcats20
    There was your pitch Hanigan

    WHAT THE FUCK NIX!

    Nice baserunning there

    Wow

NIX was awful but the ball was not in the glove and he tagged him with the glove!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • mhs95_06
I don't necessarily think that was a bad baserunning play by Nix. If the ball goes thru he needs to score, but he can't if he waits. A ball hit that hard is your best chance to tie it, but you have to go on contact.

I noticed that too. Too bad Dusty was too busy chompin' on the toothpick

Not when the ball is RIGHT in front of you. It was bad, bad baserunning.

The Reds were lucky to hit two bullets off that closer that if both were hits, they would have tied the game. If Nix stops at 3rd if Hanigan's goes thru, Heisey still strikes out to end the game. I think it was the right play by Nix to go on that hard contact.

Who the hell throws that pitch to Edmonds???????? Good God. No one with a god damn memory???? He's been killing THAT pitch since 1995....learn it.

Both Cleveland and Cincinnati had their starters go 8 innings in a loss this evening, with HR's in the 8th sealing it, losing each of their respective games 3-2

I just rewound it on the DVR and he did take the ball to his glove.

Even though it is in front of you, how good of a chance do you have to tell whether it is getting through or not?

Nix has to know where the fielders are....he cannot replace himself at 2nd and put Hanigan on 1st

pinch run Travis Wood??? Didn't matter. A lot less pressure with an average speed guy on 2nd and a slow guy on 1st
  • Ironman92
I watched it 4 times and the ball IMO was not in the glove when he tagged him...still doesn't matter...Nix gets called out on basis of stupidity
  • wildcats20
^^What he said. That was a bad play by Nix. He wasn't running on the pitch and would not have score had it gone through anyway. It was hit TOO hard for him to score.

Edit...to your post above that one lol

Yeah it doesn't matter, but when the showed the view looking from 3rd to 2nd you could see him take the ball to his glove.

Anyone do research for the Reds?????? How to attack a pitcher with the most walks in the NL....DUSTYBALL...swing away folks..let him off the hook. Wolf has always been one of those lefties that will pretty much pitch around everyone but we chase the first close pitch and hack away.

WORK THE DAMN PITCHER WHO LEADS THE LEAGUE IN WALKS........damnit Dusty!

and again....Jim Edmonds has about 390 career HR......seemingly 364 of them versus the Reds......and seriously about 360 of them on that pitch.....use past knowledge.
