He is also hitting .328 in July. Haha. smh. Get that guy out of here. He needs to be selling peanuts in Louisville!

What exactly does 1 week prove? If you are going to be that shortsighted, why not just look at his last 4 games of .067 average? It's not that he's hurting the team any more than some of the other pieces, but he's not utilizing what should be his strengths. He's one of the few guys with options and there are very very hot outfielders in AAA right now, that's why I say now is the time to do it. Bruce did it last year, not like they haven't done it before.

Janish gets a hit up the middle taking his mid-season average from .281 to .293. then the apparently dis-interested Phillips miss the hit and run sign, taking the Reds out of the inning after his pop-up.

Coco has to face the top of the order, start biting your nails

You disregarded the second part of my post chief. He is killing the ball in July. You just didn't realize it I guess. You don't send people down who are hitting .330+ over a month span. You just don't. "Utilizing other strengths?" What does that even mean? He seems to be doing pretty well with his strengths as of now.

You realize how ridiculous you sound? Yeah let's send one of the hotter hitters on the team who is killing big league pitching for a couple guys pounding big league washouts in AAA. If anybody has a ticket for Louisville it should be Nix

Phillips is hitting .220ish over the past month what do you want them to do with him? Trade him for a 6 pack of beer?

Votto, by comparison, gets his 3rd hit of the night which only takes his average from .305 to start the game to .310!

Janish has handled the bat very well in his limited ABs. I gotta give him some dap.

Anyone else think Arty could do a better job than CoCo as of late? This is getting really annoying and hard to watch.

Stubbs is not hitting close to .328 in July, where do you come up with these numbers? His strengths throughout the minors where putting the ball on the ground, getting on base, and stealing. By moving down in the order he's lost that and become an all or nothing type of hitter. It's working against crappy teams but won't cut it in the playoffs. Yes Nix should go, but Dusty loves the vets and he doesn't have options. I don't see it unfortunately.

    Reds Win!!

Big W with Roy throwing tomorrow night.
  • mhs95_06
The lucky awkward HR by Pence, who stole 3 runs with the HR and the SF to 2B, robbed Wood, once again, of his first career win! Big first win on the road trip.

Reds survive several misplays to get the win.

That's the point. Haha I'd be willing to bet he clears waivers. If he doesn't they have too many OFs as it is

Back to a 1/2 game deficit. Cardinals are bound to cool down a tad. They have been scalding hot since the break

Going back to Philips, every time I see the guy I think of Willie Mayes-Hayes from Major League. He has the same look as Snipes in the uniform and even a similar batting stance. With his athleticism, he should be putting the ball in play, not popping it up (which is seems like he does on a consistent basis). Maybe Dusty should take a page out of the movie and make him start doing pushups for every pop up.

lmao are you drunk? Stubbs is hitting .273 after tonight in July. Pretty solid but also only 3 walks and 2 sb's.

He was doing much better for awhile there. Seems like since Rolen went down he's reverted back to his old ways.

Well Dusty just said Jay was the one who screwed up and also Janish was the one who screwed up in the 9th and there was no sign. He won't be seeing the field for awhile.
  • Ironman92
When does Janish see the field anyways....probably doesn't know the signs.

Janish didn't look back...showing it was his fault.

I can't tell you the last time I watched a RF catch the ball in contol wihtout sliding 30 feet off the dirt...whatever Dusty. With runners on 1st and 2nd and less than 2 outs it could've been an infiled fly rule call.

Thanks dave...and the Reds who contributed.

Yeah, I could take your route by blaming it on the boxed wine and bragging that I was drunk and that I have a girlfriend. But I choose not to.
