Wade Comment Comparing Heat to the WTC

  • devil1197
Dwyane Wade said in a recent interview, "If we [the Miami Heat] lose a couple in a row this season, it will be like the World Trade
    is coming down again."

    Opinion, thoughts?

Thought it was a comment we could discuss.

    I agree.

I always love when athletes lose prospective....just like when they say stuff like "this is going to be a war". A bunch of spoiled, coddled athletes have no idea what they are talking about....not a shot at Wade, since many athletes make these dumb comments.
  • newarkcatholicfan
He plays in the NBA is anyone shocked by this.
  • I Wear Pants
I hope they lose all their games.
  • iclfan2
    Idiot.
  • thedynasty1998
I'm sure he meant it literally.
  • skank
Jessie Jackson compared NBA ownership to slavery, Wade says this, what's next, comparing a tough loss to the holocaust?

Doesn't fucking matter. It's disrespectful as hell.

Yeah, pretty much. Shit like this has been said a lot over the past 10 years or so and I know that the athletes are thinking....just speaking, but they have to be more "PC" than that.

yeah thats fucked up to say the least. what a piece of shit.

Lol people bitch entirely too much.

If LBJ said this last year nobody would even make a thread about it, and if someone did theyd be called a troll and laughed at.

No, when you use one of worst acts of violence on American soil to compare losing a couple games, I don't care who said I'd call them out for being a stupid POS.

Had LBJ said it last year, no one would have tried to defend a stupid comment like you have here.
  • Hb31187
Im not defending his comment, Im saying people are blowing it entirely out of proportion. I mean settle down, he didnt say this with a turban around his head and saying praise alah. Give it a rest

It was a dumb comment, but he meant no harm by it
  • ytownfootball
Pfffft, Cav fans are still pissed. Get over it.

    He actually said this...
"We're going to be wearing a bullseye. But that's what you play for," Wade said. "We enjoy the bullseye. Plus, there's going to be times when we lose 2-3 games in a row, and it seems like the world has crashed down. You all are going to make it seem like the World Trade is coming down again, but it's not going to be nothing but a couple basketball games.
Fanhouse got it wrong, corrected it and apologized for it.

Sounds like Wade feels "we're more popular than Jesus" right now

Wade may be right about the success potential of the "new and improved" Heat, but there is still a long NBA Season to play and all kinds of things can happen between now and the end of the NBA regular season. I think that in pro sports, nothing is absolutely certain and who knows? I'll bet the Heat will have a lot more people rooting against them. For many, an NBA fan's favorite team will be anyone playing the Heat. Kobe will have far less haters this season.
