Joey Votto: I don't like the Cubs
-
SportsAndLadyLove or hate this quote by Votto Reds fans?
“I don’t like the Cubs,” Votto said. “And I’m not going to pat anybody with a Cubs uniform on the back. But because he made that really cool play, it turned out to be a really cool experience. I’m really glad we got the win today.” -
trackandccrunnerI love it. Sports needs to get back to things like this rather than "O hey lets be friends and hug and kiss before and after every game."

I agree. And I love seeing Joey make this statement.I love it. Sports needs to get back to things like this rather than "O hey lets be friends and hug and kiss before and after every game." -
Art ModellWho's Joey Votto?
-
RotinajThis reminded me of that video someone posted a while ago when a little kid who was a Cubs fan was asking for his autograph and he just kept walking. The kid was calling him Joey Vote-O though for some reason. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hb31187Lol i like the whole sayin he doesnt like the cubs part.
But bein a complete dick to a little kid though....come on. lol -
karen lotzI don't care that he doesn't like the Cubs, but he should pat Byrd on the back for helping to secure home field advantage in the World Series. Maybe Votto has knowledge of the upcoming firesale so he doesn't really care, but at least Byrd contributed to the cause.

Ironman92Joey is a potentially very grouchy at all times individual.....very very focused and talented. He doesn't have to like the Cubs at all......but a pat of Marlon Byrd after his play in the OF....c'mon Joey....Marlon was on your team and helped you potentially get a homefield advantage.
I can't stand the Cubs and most of their fans.....but how can you like baseball and not like how Marlon Byrd plays? I'd love for him to be the Reds CF. -

I was beginning to think there weren't any sane Reds fans on OC -

Why are you even here? You don't even like Ohio teams and just bash on Ohio teams' fans. -

I love it! Rivalry is what I miss most about sports. The NBA used to be great because you had so many individual rivalries. Back in the day there was no way I would miss a Bird/Person or Bird/Miller matchup.SportsAndLady;423464 wrote:Love or hate this quote by Votto Reds fans?

SportsAndLadyDidn't wanna start another thread, but this was kinda cool. Votto was chosen as the NL MVP and Rhodes as the top reliever in the NL.
"MLB.com surveyed 150 players and 37 named the Reds first baseman (Votto) the MVP. Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera was the American League leader with 27 votes.
Rhodes received 18 votes to outdistance Padres closer Heath Bell" -

Just don't see the point from your standpoint. I mean I don't go on Boston College sites and root for Ohio State there lol -
Ironman92I love Ohio Sports but growing up we had 3 channels (cool story grandpa...I know) and then one day we got cable with 13 channels and one of the was TBS and by God we had baseball every night....Claudell freaking Waashington, Dale Murphy, Pascual Perez, Craig McMurty, ugly ass Rich Mahler, Rafael big butt Ramirez, super prospect Brad Komminsk...lol, Bob hit 4 HR in one game Horner....it was awesome......only other games were on Saturday NBC......I'll never forget those horrible teams (good in 1983).......and they'll always be my #2 team......well behind the Reds....but I like the Braves.
I also have always like the Broncos......but I won't tell anyone why on here or they might burn my jersey.
Also grew up with Huntington WV local channels as I'm far enough in southern Ohio to be just 35 miles from WV and Kentucky.....not real near Cincy and damn far from Cleveland.....WV channels always had Steeler games.....and guess who my favorite team is still? -
karen lotzI wasn't aware this was a Reds/Indians/Cavs exclusive board? I guess the Cubs, Tigers, Pirates, and whoever else fans should leave too?
S&L, you are a Kansas basketball fan right? I've seen you on the CBB forum quite a bit. Please explain why you were there. -

justincredibleI love that Votto is deeply rooted in the rivalry. I think he could've let it slide this one time, but whatevs.

SportsAndLadyLol some dude on ESPN said Andrew McCutcheon should have been an all-star instead of Meeks, then went to say he should have been a starter.
WTF..he is hitting .287 with 9 HR and 28 RBIs -

Yeah. Meek was the team's most deserving player. McCutchen's been slumping recently (to be fair, he was over .300 when selections were made) and he simply hasn't been good at producing with runners in scoring position. Having Iwamura's .170 average in the leadoff position for so long definitely doesn't help his totals, but it just seems when he has a chance to drive in runs, he either grounds into a double play or hits the sort of weak single to the shallow part of the outfield where virtually nobody could score from second. -
jordo212000Why is S&L busting Karen lotz's balls? Haha S&L is a Kansas fan and he posts in our basketball forum. Shouldn't he be posting in Kansas forum, by his logic?
