Stern fines Dan Gilbert $100,000 for LeBron letter
-
ts1227He called LeBron a dumbass too to an extent, but in typical Stern fashion that was not relevant because superstars and referees have always been untouchable in Stern's NBA.
-
wes_mantoothStern is so random with his fines....lol
-
Fab1bNot surprised I think he knew it before releasing it and he will gladly pay it
-
YtowngirlinflaOh that's pocket change for him. Wonder if Cuban is next?
-
shook_17stern is a bitch. worst comish ever.

Stern has Cuban number and bank account on speed dial lol. -
BigAppleBuckeyeHow was Gilbert's open letter any more humiliating than Lebron's charade on National TV? Fine HIS ass!
-
killdeerStern has kissed so much superstar ass his lips should be bronzed and inducted into the HOF.
-
sjmvsfscs08Fuck David Stern.
-
BCBulldogI love it. First Jesse Jackson, now David Stern. Keep bashing, fining and drawing attention to Gilbert. He just keeps looking better and better. You can't buy this kind of advertising.
-
killdeerLet me get this straight.....we have an owner, who writes a letter of support and encouragement to the fans; and he gets fined.
We have LBJ, who made an embarrassing spectacle, one that made the NBA look a lot more like the WWF, and Stern supports that idiotic display.
absolutely surreal. -

Not even close
I can't believe that some of you can't admit Gilbert was way off base here -
JugheadYeah good move Stern. Be pissed that one of your owners is upset that not all teams are created equal like you want us to believe and yet you have nothing in place to prevent the unequalness. What a jackass!
He's almost as bad Bud Selig. -

He was off base, but it was not deserving of a fine. -
Al BundyIt's pathetic that Gilbert gets fined because Jesse Jackson complained about it.

Good joke. -
gutI think the fine is appropriate.
Gilbert simply went too far. He got too personal with calling Lebron a quitter and calling out multiple playoff games. Guaranteeing a championship before Lebron, etc.. That's what I take issue with. I applaud his calling out the Lebacle and "two days of unprecedented selfishness, ego, etc.." -

You are right. He should have been demanding an investigation into player collusion and tampering. What he did was way to amateurish....he should have got out the attorneys.I can't believe that some of you can't admit Gilbert was way off base here -

He called a traitor out for being a traitor. I see nothing wrong with his methods and this is coming from someone who could really care less about professional level basketball. -
thedynasty1998I'm absolutely shocked that anyone would be surprised that Gilbert got a fine.
-
DarkonWhy doesn't Stern take that million to pay for an investigation and see how long this deal really was in place?

that's actually a really perceptive take on the whole thing.... -

And what if there was a deal in place? What violation occurred? I don't think they ever said where they would play, I think they just talked about it. Hell, it sounded like Wade was seriously considering Chicago at one point.
