    Why would he regret it??

La isnt winning another title. He will wish he was playing with the guys in miami.

I think Fisher fits L.A.'s system better than any other team.

    Based on what?
  • Midstate01
my personal opinion, Teams in the west are getting better, and teams in the east are better. LA hasnt done anything to get better, unless you think brian cook is the new key piece

What teams in the west are getting better? The Jazz lost Korver and Boozer, the Suns lost Amare. Outside of the Thunder, who has gotten better? The East looks dramatically better, or at least the top teams, plus they added the top 3 picks in the NBA Draft.

Am I crazy to say that Oklahoma might be L.A.'s biggest competitor in the West?

    Not one bit.

But, if Denver can get a healthy Karl on the bench, they will be there too. But they are Denver and will shit down their leg.

That was going to be my response too. It's Denver, I cannot take them as a serious title contender even with Chauncey Billups and Carmelo. I see Oklahoma City as the only team I can really see taking out the Lakers from the West. If healthy Portland could also give them a run for their money, but that's a big if. Phoenix, Houston, San Antonio, Denver and Dallas I see as good teams but just don't have that "it" factor to beat the Lakers and win a championship.

I expect the Lakers to be much improved next year.

Artest was God awful pretty much all year, and he won't be that bad again now that he has had a year in the triangle, and has the confidence he was lacking now that he has a ring.

If Bynum continues to develop and can ever find a way to stay healthy, he will be a monster. He is only 22 still, and has gotten progressively better every year when he actually plays.

He is the X factor for them. They have gotten nothing out of him essentially in the playoffs for 3 years now and have 2 rings and a finals appearance to show for it.

If he takes that leap from the 15 & 8 he averaged to say 18-20 & 10 with a couple blocks per game and some good health to actually contribute in the playoffs the Lakers are going to be next to impossible to beat in a 7 game series.

When they go big with Odom/Gasol/Bynum on the floor the length can sometimes just be overwhelming.

To me Bynum's continued development will be the difference in whether the Heat real off 3-4 titles in a row or play back and forth with the Lakers over the next 4-5 years.

Never thought I would see the day when we had two Derek Fisher threads...lol

Anyhow, I think most expected him to be back.
  • krazie45
Good choice for him....he's the key locker room guy for that team

Fisher to Riley...."well, how much you gonna pay me"?

    Riley: "$7.35 an hour".

    Fisher: "Thought so".

    Fisher seen texting.."Hello Kobe"?
  • hoops23
    ^haha

    This is huge.

Funny thing is, there are reports about other teams overpaying for FA's to keep them away from Miami lol...
