Cavs to replace Lebron with Josh Childress

  • Lovejoy1984
Childress should be a good bargain.

that should lock up another 60 win season.

I thought Gilbert was nuts when he said the Cavs will win a title before Lebron does. He clearly knew something we didn't as this should lock it up.

    FIXED

Can you imagine Josh and Andy on the court at the same time?

Seriously though, this is a 'decent' move at best... We were interested in him last season as well..

I expect us to make more moves if this happens.. This will probably be our MLE.

tough to beat Shawn Marions but its up there

One of the better FA's left on the market. You do what you can when LeBron handicaps you with "The Decision"

Will be a solid move if Cleveland can land some picks and/or Teague/Jo. Crawford.
  • hoops23
If we can't get Collison, Jeff Teague is the guy I want. I think he's got all star potential at the PG spot.
  • hoops23
Oh and it would be absolutely hilarious if the Cavs got Jordan Crawford...

HAHA yes, and then to top it off, we somehow make it to the ECF and Crawford dunks on James again on way to beating them. But I can only dream...

At least he appears to want to be in Cleveland. (Childress)

    Could be worse.

    Solid pickup.

Solid player and solid pickup. They are moving on.

Wasn't he in Italy maybe he will bring Boban Savovic with him.
In all seriousness I didn't think he was all that bad when he played for the Hawks still don't know why he crossed the pond though.

How successful has he been overseas?

    He played for Greek Olympiacos.

In 2008-9 he averaged 13.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.

In 2009-10 he averaged 15.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

Color me less than blown away by those numbers against sub-par competition.

He just went $ chasing. Got a 3 yr $32.5 million USD contract in Europe. Their contracts are factored after tax as well. No way he'd get that from any NBA team.

In Europe he averaged 15.2 pts, 4 rebounds and 1 assist in the 2009-10 year. (in Euroleague play, what is better that or the Greek league?)

I guess the deal would be a S/T Shaq and Mo for Marvin Williams and Childress. This would probably be contingent on the team getting a young PG from elsewhere (Acie Law maybe?). Looking at Marvin Williams v. LeBron they are about comparable sizes. LBJ avg 50% from the field to Marvin's 45%. LBJ shot 33% from the field and Marvin 30% last year. Not saying that Williams is anywhere near the player LBJ is but maybe he just needs a change of scenery to be the player that the Hawks thought he would be when they drafted him so high.
